  1. LMAO. Was thinking the exact same thing, Tipp!
  2. My favorite bait isn't one I throw a lot. In fact, I haven't thrown it in over 3 years. The reason it is my favorite is because I caught my first double digit bass on it, a 12lb hawg. The bait is a Lucky Craft Big Daddy Strike 4 crankbait in chartreuse/black back. It has a super tough paint job, and 2 of the hook points are still missing from that big bass breaking the tips off of them : D
  3. MIne would have to be the Berkley Frenzy crankbaits. They are discontinued, but every chance I have to buy them, I get every single one. I freaking love the things. BTW, if any of you have any old Frenzy baits sitting in your boxes, PM me and I'll send you the moolah!!
  4. AHAHAHAHA. I'm pretty sure those cartoon characters are from a show on Nickelodeon called The Fairly Odd Parents. I haven't the slightest clue why they would be on the package of a spoon. Lol. Where in the heck did you order those things from???
  5. My favorite sandwiches by far are made by a grocery store we have here called Publix. They are a pretty big chain, so I'm not really sure how far they go from the Atlanta area, but my gawd do they make an awesome sammich. I'm just like So Fla, I get a cuban everytime.
  6. You're not going to be disappointed, my friend : )
  7. The Bass Pro Shops Incredible Craw is a real fish catcher that doesn't get near the publicity they deserve. It's like $2.99 for a 20 pack and they catch the crap out of the fish. I caught my PB 14.7 on a watermelon/chart. claw Incredible Craw with a 1/0 Gamakatsu Wide Gap and a 1/16oz slip sinker. It's also perfect as a jig trailer, especially the finesse style jigs (thinner skirt). Try em out!
  8. What a STUPID move by Trotz to keep AK46 and Radulov out of game 4. Radulov is an extremely talented scorer and since teams haven't seen him the last 4 years, he's got even more of an advantage. The Preds are starving for offense and I don't get why after passing down his 1 game suspension, he didn't put them back into the lineup. Shakin my freaking head.
  9. This This This This. Huge Bruins fan here, but you could see going into the playoffs that the Kings were gonna be the toughest team to beat, even though they were the #8 seed in the west. Regular season records don't mean CRAP. The team playing the best hockey the last 3-4 weeks of the season is usually the team that's gonna take it all. With the way Quick is playing and the life Jeff Carter injected into that offense, I can't see them being stopped. BTW, the trade for Carter was GENUIS. I had Quick and Carter on my fantasy team this season, too : ))
  10. Zeeso, unfortunately your technique is not "JFranch approved" but I think it was an awesome idea. It does sound like the fish was trying to clear the weight off the bed, but hey, if that's what he is targeting, then stick a hook on there. I don't understand how JFrancho thinks that if the bass somehow chooses to eat the weight over the bait that it's not fishing. I guess bass are ONLY allowed to eat what we humans consider baits and not what we call weights. Lol. Keep on keeping on, man. Way to be versatile on the water and figure out how to get that fish in the boat.
  11. This is a perfect example of why your the most retarded person on this site.
  12. Wofford, tons and tons of great advice on this thread, but I have something to add that's real important. BTW, I fish Lanier quite a bit, so this advice has some personal experience to back it up : ) I promise the reason you aren't catching them is because Lake Lanier is LOADED with Blueback Herring. When fishing Lanier, or any Blueback lake for that matter, you gotta speed your topwaters up! Race that popper across the surface, to make it seem like it's frantically trying to escape those magnum spots that are in there. I guarantee the fish that are nosing your bait and turning away will smack it. I have witnessed schools of inactive fish TURN THE FRICK ON when racing a topwater over their heads. For sunny days on Lanier, I would toss a spook style bait like a Spro Dawg 100 or Heddon Spook Jr. When the cloud cover picks up a bit, that's when I would use the popper. Make sure you have a soft plastic jerkbait like a Zoom Fluke or a stick bait like a Yamamoto Senko tied on to catch the fish that hit and missed your topwater.

  14. Franch, you know I hate you, but I can't stand to see you out on the water without the best gear for the fluke : ) I fish it exactly like you and I used to use/defend the Gammy Weedless Finesse Widegap to anyone that questioned me about it's hooking capabilities. That is, until I found this....http://www.***.com/Gamakatsu_Weedless_DropSplit_Shot_Hooks/descpage-GWD.html You hook the fish SOOOO much better, and that silly lil' weedguard actually does a great job at keeping the snaggy stuff off. Good luck flukin', my man!
  15. This.....this right here. Bass WHACK bucktails.
  16. Spro if your going to buy one off the market. They make an excellent bucktail jig. I suggest making your own, though. Head to your local Bass Pro and grab a vice, some nice jigheads, thread, and some deer hair. Google "how to tie a bucktail jig" and you will find tons or articles to help you along the way.
  17. Maybe the lure manufacturers are trying to subtly hint that largemouth LOVE bluegill. You've been tricked all along. Bass don't eat shad or crawfish.....ever. Only bluegill. Hence, the orange bellies on every pattern.
  18. Awesome info in this thread. Good stuff, Randall.
  19. If your planning on throwing it on some sort of leadhead jig, then I would suggest a darter head style. Thread on the Clone Fry, cast it out, count it down to where the fish are, and try varied retrieves. I would either swim it straight back or give it slow, continuous lift and drops, so it is constantly moving up, then down, then back up. As far as weights for the leadhead...I would go with an 1/8oz and a 1/4oz. Try the 1/8oz in less than 10FOW and the 1/4 in greater than 10FOW. When your at Bass Pro, make sure you look for a darter head that has a quality hook. I make sure all of mine are Gamakatsu. You will dig that darter head setup. It is killer on suspended fish, and is also great if the body of water your on has heavier fishing pressure. The Clone Fry will work great on it, but don't hesitate to throw a worm or craw on that jighead and work it the same way. Good luck!!
  20. Cool looking baits. I think Gambler has a soft plastic jerk bait with a segmented back that is similar to that....saw them the other day at a tackle store in Florida. They look nice, but I'm a big Zoom Fluke fan, and I'm not quite sold that the jointed back produces any more action than the traditional body style. Have any experience fishing them weightless?
  21. Spook Nasty and Cell Mate for me. Citrus Shad is also a great color. Don't forget to throw some red baits in the mix if your gonna be fishing them in colder water.
  22. First off, were the fish you had biting possibly on bed? A lot of times, spawning fish will simply grab worm bait by the tail and move it off the nest....thus resulting in the worm getting torn in half. I don't agree with upsizing your hooks. The smaller the hook, the more natural your presentation. Your getting bites on that exact setup...why change? When a keeper size and up fish eats it, your gonna hook that fish. My guess is panfish/small bass are causing this. You can also try adding some scent to see if that will help the fish eat it a bit more aggressively.
  23. those baits are SWEET, whittler. The first thing I thought of with that last color was icy hot....so maybe icyhot craw? Maybe could even try for an endorsement with Shaq!
  24. Able....the ONLY reason I opened this thread is because I just knew you would reply. Your pics always deliver, man. From the live bass webcam shots to the cig hanging out of your mouth while holding up the baits you just made. Haha.
  25. Welcome to the forum! A lot of good advice on this thread. I personally don't think color matters as much as confidence in the color. When it comes to cold water, hands down PB/J with about 7 strands of smoke has been my #1 producer. So when I'm on the water, I KNOW that color will catch me fish. But will that same fish hit a black/blue jig.....most likely. Pick a color, throw it, catch fish with it, and get some confidence. Good luck! Oh and since your fishing clear water, make sure your throwing that jig on fluorocarbon line.
