  1. Sorry, I know a couple of homeless men, but no chicks. Lol. Matt, you would have to have been at the Guntersville Roadtrip to understand that one. But yes, it could be worn by either a homeless man or woman
  2. Good post Jack and good luck at the tournament. Another thing to try is to speed that bait up. A fish that slaps at your spinnerbait might respond better to a faster retrieve. As far as trailers go, I never use them and I would especially not use them if I'm dealing with fish barely biting. This time of year on lake Lanier, a lot of the guys will use up to 3 trailer hooks to get fish and that's with Spotted Bass which are way more energetic than LMB
  3. I'm gonna get rid of the d**n thing so the harassment will stop.....thinking about donating it. Know any homeless people that could use it
  4. The hits didn't look particularly vicious. It was almost as if the bass didn't want to eat it but instead were just curious about what the heck it was. Oh those hits were LMB at there best. Pure stealth. The biggest fish in Cali stalk topwater baits and slurp them rather than crush them. This bait is gonna get bit in a bad way, but I agree with Hawk about it's durability. I will just have to get one and see 8-) That will look "cute" hanging out of the pocket on your furry hoodie.... ;D ROFLMAO... Completely uncalled for

  6. Oh dude, that is dirty. How much are they going for? Where are they sold? You tried them yet?
  7. Buzzbaits, Aruku Shads, double willow leafed spinnerbaits, and soft jerkbaits
  8. Way to go! New PB's are an awesome feeling. That thing is a giant anywhere, and the fact that you caught it that far north is even more impressive! That replica is gonna look dang good my friend.
  9. Sox & Yanks
  10. Chris, the flooding is incredible, isn't it! Our entire campus was flooded and were on our 2nd day of cancelled classes. All the roads around campus have been shut down to so we've basically been locked in. Sorry to see all the damage in the hood. Atleast that G3 will work nicely out there ;D
  11. Hey Fishnutt, welcome to BR. What part of Georgia you from? I'm in Kennesaw which is about 45 minutes north of Atlanta
  12. I don't know, but my sister thinks you're an *** and one of Burley's goats is walking funny... ROFLMAO!!!!!
  13. Micro, this is opposite of what everyone is saying, and sounds crazy, but trying speeding it up a bit. I know it sounds crazy, but just give it a try and post your results back on this thread
  14. I used to be a big Costa user until I found Wiley-X. All my friends where Costas and I can honestly say I cannot see a difference. The Costa is way heavier due to it being glass. Another thing I noticed about them is that when I was sight fishing this Spring, the color of the fish seemed to have more "pop" with the Wiley than with Costa. I would definitely suggest taking a look at them.
  15. Lizards have always been productive for me in the Spring. I like them on a Carolina rig in the summer, but it's tough to beat a Texas rigged lizard pitched around shallow cover in the early Spring/Spring. I really don't think it has to do with fish thinking it's going to eat their eggs, I just think they see it as.... A. A big, slow moving meal which is prime in early spring B. A big, slow moving threat to their nest of eggs. I'm sure they work all year, but I mainly break them out when your fishing them. As Maxx Redneck said, give the RageTail series a try.
  16. I've only had one tournament there, but I got to spend a week on the lake. It just happened that the tournament was in early November of last year so some of the stuff I learned might be able to help you out. When I was there, it seemed there were 2 really good bites. One was back in the creeks on docks and wood. The fish were killing buzzbaits but it had to be crawled. I was using a Warrior buzzbait which is the slowest on the market IMO and layed into them. When I was using the Tru-Tungsten buzzbait, which is my favorite, I couldn't get a bite. That slow retrieve was key. The other bite was on the main lake points with a Sebile Magic Swimmer. The fish had the Blueback Herring pinned on the edges of the point and were busting them up. The wind really helped that bite. Just go from point to point chuckin the Magic Swimmer and also the Spro Aruku Shad which caught me a few. When that wind dies down, go over those areas with a jig or carolina rig and you should be able to catch a few. The tournament was won up the Saluda River flipping a jig, but I don't know anything else other than that. I have family that lives on the lake and I will be bringing my boat out there for Thanksgiving. If your around, we can try and figure something out. Good luck dude and enjoy the lake. It's freaking gorgeous out there.
  17. I don't use trailers on my spinnerbaits, but for jigs I like.... - Rage Tail Craws or Space Monkeys - GYCB Flappin' Hog - Zoom Chunk I'm going to be trying the #11 pork trailer this Winter. I always hear good things about the pork trailers in cold water. For swimming the jigs I would go with the Rage Tail stuff. The action is incredible and will give your jig a good thump and lift.
  18. Robby! C'mon man. PM me your address and I will send you up a quality cigar. If you don't have a cutter, let me know and I will send you up one too. I don't know if good cigars will mix well with natural ice light and Milwaukees best. Natty Ice and Swisher Sweets??!?!?!?!?!?! Dude, I had hope for you but it's gone. I'll send you a cigar and go out and get a Sam Adams Summer Ale with some peanuts. They go great together.
  19. I don't like the black bags. It warms up the water real fast and can stress out the fish. Like Glenn said, when you put down the bag it gets that water hot in a hurry. BPS makes a good bag and it's pretty affordable. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_74112____SearchResults They have 3 bad reviews on BPS.com but I've never had an issue with mine.
  20. Agree with Mike. Pats go 13-3
  21. If the fish are suspended off the ledges then you have a few things to look for and try. 1. Try and find when those fish move onto those ledges and catch them with a bottom contact bait. (c-rig, crankbait, t-rig, etc.) 2. Find the depth they are suspended at and look for ledges in that depth zone. Again, now you can catch them with bottom contact baits. 3. Look for shad near the suspended fish. If there are shad nearby, the spoon will work like Catt suggested. You can sit there and drop shot them all day, but if you have inactive suspended fish I wouldn't waste my time. Sure you could get a few willing biters in the well but go look elsewhere. You say your fishing a river, so try and go look for some shallow vegetation or wood. Good luck dude

  23. Good article but there is one major thing I disagree with. Here's a quote from the article.... "Many times I will use a double willow combination instead of a single Colorado bladed bait. This again is a speed factor. I can work the double willow slower than I can a Colorado bladed bait, which keeps it in the bass zone longer." This is exactly opposite of what it should be. If your using a double willow then you need to be burning that bait. If you want a slow, thumping retrieve, use a colorado blade, and to slow it down more you need to up the size of the colorado blade.
  24. Chegg is the best. I can get all my books each semester for under $150 and they pay for the shipping.
  25. I've never been a fan of a trailer on a spinnerbait. In all honesty I think it does nothing to improve your catch rate because I feel that up until the moment of the fish biting, it's focus is on the blades. Once it keys in on the skirted area, I don't want those tails sticking way past the hook. As far as using a curly tail grub, the only advantage it would give you is lifting your bait if you rig it tail down. It's the same way a swim jig works.
