  1. I burst them all the freakin time when I puke. Really sucks. You can tell when Senko77 had a good night when my eyes are blood red the next morning!
  2. I've been fishing them the way Dean Rojas showed me and I have really been catching them with it. 8lb line, 2/0 EWG, 1/8oz weight on spinning gear. Cast it out, let it sit awhile, shake it a few times, then repeat. Dirty
  3. Nice catch Nick. Now that you have confidence, the fish will come on a more regular basis. Remember to SLAM that hook home. Weak hooksets are the number one reason why people miss fish on a frog IMO.
  4. I have a TON of them, NIP. Awesome Awesome spinnerbait. I might be able to let some go if your looking. PM me.
  5. 6am - 8am. For some reason, I always catch my biggest fish of the day early in the morning, year round. My 2 most productive techniques for early morning have been a fluke and a buzzbait.
  6. 3/32 or 1/8 is a great overall weight. The only time I go heavier is if I'm using the Buckeye Lures Spot Remover, then I will use the 1/4oz
  7. LOL!!! Glenn, I thought you were gonna delete that out!!! ;D
  8. 14.7 on 8lb line, 1/0 Gamakatsu EWG, 1/16oz slip sinker, 3.5" BPS Incredible Craw
  9. I believe Academy makes a hard bluegill swimbait. It's part of their H2O lineup. It should be under $10

    Fluke

Zelmo, when I'm ripping it back fast, I like to nose hook it with the circle hook. I like how when I kill it for a second or two, it falls nose first.

    Fluke

The fluke is the most versatile bait in your tackle box. I have it rigged up 12 months out of the year and it is usually one of the first things I pick up when I'm on the water. My favorite setup is a 6'6" M power, fast action spinning rod with any smaller sized spinning reel. 8lb test fluorocarbon, barrel swivel, 3/0 EWG hook, and a Smokin' Shad colored bait.
  12. I haven't got to play with them too much, but from the times I have thrown it, it has caught fish. I'm just not much of a hard jerkbait thrower, I prefer a soft plastic one. All of the fish I have caught on the McStick have been swimming it rather than twitching it. The swimming action is real nice on it and obviously the fishies like it too.
  13. I'm a huge fan of red spinnerbaits. Red skirt/gold bladed spinnerbaits have really caught em for me on certain days. I don't know what turns them on to it, but I always throw it around during practice to see if I can get bit on it. My favorite way to fish red spinnerbaits is in the Summertime, burning them over grass clumps and other shallow cover.
  14. Jig Fluke Jig
  15. Fleshlights
  16. I really like painted blades on cloudy days and on windy days. If it's cloudy and windy, then I like it even better
  17. Smokin Shad colored Fluke. 8lb fluoro, swivel, 3/0 Gamakatsu EWG. Catches fish 60% of the time....ALL THE TIME
  18. The BPS and Cabelas brands tend to have harder bodies which lead to more misses.. Vinny, I gotta disagree with you. Although it is true that they do have harder bodies, this doesn't attribute at all to missed fish. I have used every frog on the market, and have not really seen a difference in hookup ratios once I learned to set the hook. People miss frog fish because they can't set the hook. End of story.
  19. Deep diving crankbaits. I HATE THEM SO MUCH!!! Anything that dives more than 10ft is completely unproductive for me. I'm hoping to really buckle down and learn them this summer.
  20. Basically every kind of soft plastic will work on it. I prefer straight tail but I bet that on certain days, you would whoop my tail with a curly tail. Just let them tell you what they want. I have had days when I put a small crawfish on it and worn them out, then the next day they wouldn't touch it and it was all about the straight tail worm. Just switch until they tell you it's right
  21. Most of the time I will alternate all day between a 5" and a 7". If you can wait till next week, I can shoot a quick video for you and put it on YouTube on how I fish it. I know visual learning is way better for me so maybe it can help you pick it up faster.
  22. There's a ton of really great articles on it and you can find them if you go to the top left and drop down the menu under "Fishing Articles". There have also been some real good threads in the past on the shaky head and if you do an advanced search, you can find a wealth of info. But here is a quick rundown on my shaky head fishing. I jump around from jighead to jighead as new ones come out so I always have a new favorite, but at the moment, I have 2 kinds that I always keep in my boat. The first is the 1/4oz Buckeye Lures Spot Remover and the other is 1/8oz Spro K-Finesse jighead. I throw the Spot Remover in open water areas like between docks and over points and I use the Spro K-Finesse when I'm targeting specific things like a brushpile, rip rap, a piling, etc. Basically any kind of worm will work. Anyway, pop that worm or any other soft plastic on the jighead and hurl it out there. My favorite shaky head setup is a 7' medium-light power rod with a reel with a smooth drag and 8lb test fluorocarbon line. Any brands will do, but I prefer the Powell 702 ML rod, Diawa Tierra 2500 reel, and Seaguar line. Again, any brand will work, those are just what I prefer. As far as working the bait goes, it's really simple. Cast it out, let it sit, lift up real lightly on it to check if something is there, give it a couple small hops/shakes/drags and let it soak again. People tend to over think the word "SHAKY HEAD" and they shake the fire out of it. Trust me, you will get way more bites by not moving it. Remember that most of your bites will come as it's lying still, so it's real important to lift gently on your line so you don't pop it out of their mouths. If your skipping docks, I suggesting glueing the wormhead to the top of the jighead so it won't slide down. Hope this helps a bit and lemme know if you have any other questions
  23. I start throwing a buzzbait when the water hit around 51-52. From my experience, you really gotta slow down to get them to commit and usually the bites are real subtle, but I have caught some GIANTS in some real cold water with a buzzbait.
  24. Nice choice with the Suffix. Best mono on the market, hands down!
  25. I'm with Spro, so obviously I'm a big fan of the Aruku Shad, but the Bill Lewis Pro Trap is a freaking awesome bait. My tournament partner has absolutely smeared me from the back of the boat with that thing. I usually keep on tied on because somedays they hit that thing way better. I use the Diamond Dust color. I always have an Aruku Shad and the Pro Trap tied on. Not many people throw it and I'm shocked that they don't. Make sure to change out the hook because they are wicked dull, but once you put a sticky hook on there, you won't lose any fish because of the way it's designed. Thanks for finding one of my secrets!!!
