  1. Where in the water column do bass "normally" hang out? Is it the lower column? When fishing top water, do the bass swim up from the lower column to strike?
  2. NorthEast Florida: Black plastic worms, Baby Brush Hogs (watermelon seed) w/ a small split shot along the banks around weedlines. (Evening)
  3. A couple of weeks ago, I was fishing a small pond when I sensed something behind me. I slowly turned my head a saw a 4 foot water moccasin just sitting there about 6 feet away from me. Didn't want to make any sudden moves so I just kept really still. All of a sudden it slithered into the water and swam to the other side of the pond. I don't know how long it was behind me, didn't even hear it. Just sensed that something was there.
  4. It's 6:30pm, 85 degrees and overcast, thunderstorm just rolled through. Your on a small lake fishing from a bank around overhanging brush and emergent grassbeds. Everything you do seems right, but nothing is working. Then you remember to check your fishing journal. You search through the pages until you come across a day just like today, may be from a year or two ago. You find out that you caught some nice fish on a certain bait, with a certain retrieve. So, you duplicate this and BAM! your on a fish! Has this happened to you? Just interested to how many of you keep a fishing journal, and how successful, or unsuccessful it is for you.
  5. Hello fellow Florida angler! I am from Jacksonville. What part of Fl. are you from?
  6. What generally works for me is to gently grab ahold of the belly, they seem to never move when I handle them this way. Then, I can grab the lip.
  7. SHIMANO 6 OR 7 2 POUNDERS, OR 1 10 POUNDER
  8. Thanks, They are only about 7 or 8 inches long. What do you mean by stunned?
  9. Hello eveybody. New to forum. I found this 2 or 3 acre pond in my neighborhood. It is not man made and has been there a long time. Not much cover or structure to speak of. The problem is this, I get lot's of hits but they are only juvenile bass-7in-8in long. I got most of these strikes along the shore line so I decided to try deeper water. No luck. Just juvenile bass. I have tried this pond on more than one occasion at different times of the day, again, juvenile bass. If there are juveniles in there, then there must be adults in there right? I have yet to find one. I have tries top waters in the evening, spinnerbaits, soft platics, etc... The only luck I have is with the plastic worms, and all I'm getting are the Kids, wheres the grown ups? Any help will be greatly apreciated.
