  1. There are benefits in having a team in your conference in the playoffs. The conference gets paid for their appearance which is divided among the schools in the conference. Last year the SEC got $6 mil for Bama in the playoffs and paid again for the NC game. That was over $1 mil to lowly UT. It also helps with recruiting. It's a good selling point to tell kids they'll be facing Bama and guaranteed national tv time.
  2. Yeah ok 4-8 is a tough year.
  3. I'm so sorry for your loss.
  4. I guess the cold isn't the only thing that's bitter in Knoxville. GO DAWGS!!!
  5. I am in the same boat as you. Both grandmothers, my mother and now my dad showing signs. I figure I'll be able to hide my own Easter eggs pretty soon. I am semi retired and working just for the insurance. If you can get the insurance I say give up work and enjoy yourself.
  6. I hope they get your truck back and the cops get some baton practice one that guy.
  7. Now I know who to blame. We didn't have any snow until you got here.
  8. I've always found the opposite. Those of us from the south know the roads are not plowed and salted and can handle it. It's always the transplants that think "oh it's just an inch or 2" that end up in a ditch.
  9. I grew up very country. The nearest town was about 400 people and was 15 miles from us. I never had central heat, air conditioning of any kind, or city water until I went to college. I have lived in Chicago and Atlanta but hated every second of it. I live in the country now and love it.
  10. It's a common theme with Mark Richt. We spent 10 years with him at UGA almost being great. He's a super nice guy and heck off an offensive mind but somehow manages to always squander great opportunities.
  11. Nice job. That frame holding the carpet in the front hatch until it dried was a great idea.
  12. I hate Bama as much as the next guy but overrated because they only beat LSU by 14? Their schedule is weaker this year but they are a very good team.
  13. The Quicksilver will do fine. I have used it for years with no issue.
  14. I was sitting in my office working today when I heard a weird sounding boat coming up the lake. I'm not sure where you mount the trolling motor.
  15. Dude...you gotta break the pills in half. Just kidding, good luck on your new venture.
  16. The first picture is the bottom off the swivel pin where it meets the lower unit. You can see the speedo tube going in next to it. There is just an o-ring in there to replace. Looks like you you could use some better marine grade grease too.
  17. I'm talking about UGA. I have been waiting for the let down this year but it looks like they're for real this year. Can't wait to see how they stack up against Bama.
  18. How bout them Dawgs!!!
  19. My favorite is the Cabelas Real Image spoon in glow color. The glow in the dark seems gimmicky but spots around here tear them up. The factory hooks are garbage but I swap a mustad with a flashabou wrap. The 1/2 and 3/4 oz are my favorites.
  20. I figure it's a lot cheaper than the divorce attorney and alimony I would spend if I didn't have fishing to get me out of the house. I have really gotten over the bait monkey the last couple years. I don't feel the need to have the latest and greatest rods and reels anymore. I went to BPS a few weeks ago and bought just 1 crankbait to replace one I lost. There was a time that would have been at least a $200 trip.
  21. I don't think the 60 hp would be a problem. I would go with a Ulterra or Terrarova over the Fortrex though. The spot lock will make life much easier on a tin boat in the wind.
  22. I'll be in that good of shape when Colonel Sanders starts selling free weights. Way to go AJay.
  23. It really doesn't look bad. A good buffing and trailer sand and paint would make it look a lot better.
  24. Is it fiberglass or aluminum? Both can be painted but glass is a little harder and more expensive to do right. If the hull is solid it's worth painting IMO.
  25. Sounds like a great trip. We were there Labor Day week and did not do as well as you. I took my own boat down so our captain wasn't too bright. We did catch a lot of trout from Capt Andersons to the NAS at the bridge. We also caught a lot of amberjacks and king mackerel off shore.
