  1. Truck and boat are only worth about $50. I'll be by tomorrow to get them.
  2. My favorite spoon is the Cabelas real image in glow color. The stocks hooks are awful but I change them out for triple grips.
  3. I use a Shimano Cardiff 300. I don't know why but I like a round reel for super heavy baits.
  4. I caught 3 doing it today. I only fish spinnerbaits in muddy water during the winter. I find most strikes come after banging the bait into cover. A stop and go retrieve helps too.
  5. Wear it! You would be amazed how heavy a sweatshirt, jeans, and light jacket get when they are wet. I had 2 mile ride back up the lake to my house and was shivering uncontrollably by the time I got home. After warming up a couple hours I took some old sweat pants and shirt in a bag and took them down to the boat. I won't be fashionable after my next swim but I won't turn blue either.
  6. I thought I would share my mistake in hopes of helping someone else. We had a beautiful day today so I had to get out on the water. The air was low 60's with water around 45 degrees. After about an hour I hooked a small LM but he got wrapped in the top of a brush pile. I pulled up on it and leaned over to clear the line when splash! I had lost my balance and went head first into the water without a PFD. Between the cold of the water taking my breath away and the weight of my wet clothes I really struggled to get my head above water. I grabbed the side of the boat but I could get a grip to pull myself up. The only thing that saved me was the brush pile. I was able to climb it like a ladder back into the boat. If it had been open water I might not have been so lucky. Please my stupidity be a reminder to wear your life jacket at all times.
  7. Congrats on the boat. I have an 08 Tacoma 2.7 and it will pull it barely but stopping is going to be the issue. I towed my pontoon with it once and it nearly dragged me down the ramp and into the water. While you could get to the ramp and back it's not safe.
  8. I have heard it was to eliminate 10' flippin rods that some people were using. Other than flipping distance and tip speed on hook sets I'm not really sure what the great advantage was though or why it needed to be banned.
  9. They make an IWB holster but it only fits people 7'9" and taller.
  10. I use a 6'8" MLXF spinning rod. Any reel with a smooth drag. I use 20lb braid with a 6 lb flouro leader. Lately I have been fishing a heavier version on a 7'2" M casting rod with a 12lb leader in brush.
  11. My old 393V only held 6'10" rods and I cut the front wall to make it longer. I had to cut out some of the foam under the deck but I got about 8" more out of it. I used rubber molding from Grainger to cover the cut edge.
  12. Must have been the rep you talked to. I have dealt with Loomis a few times over the years and always been satisfied. I rank them with Ranger and St Croix on easiest to deal with.
  13. Lifetime AL and GA, annual FL, LA, and TN
  14. If you're asking what action and power make a good shakey head rod, I use a 68MXF Avid for spinning and a 72MHXF Cumara for casting. I like the XF actions better for quick hook sets and i feels they are more sensitive. I you're asking what brand and model it depends on how much you want to spend.

    Truck Gun

Why would you want a long gun in a truck? It's hard to raise and aim an AR in a confined vehicle. Asking a carjacker to wait while you get your rifle out probably isn't the best plan either.
  16. You'll find it's worth it's weight in gold the first time you have a 20+ mph wind in your face. I have had mine 2 years now and no complaints.
  17. That's because it's sacrilege to put a Diawa reel on a Shimano rod.
  18. I like the xcalibur eeratic shad and smithwick rogues.
  19. That hole is an exhaust port. Some water come out of it when the prop is submerged but on a hose the water runs out the prop. Those motors don't have a tell tale that squirts water to let you know the pump is working. Judging by the way it ran I would guess your problem is fuel delivery. Possibly a bad fuel pump or even bad check valve in the priming bulb.
  20. TW still has them on sale. http://www.***.com/Shimano_Stradic_CI4_Spinning_Reel/descpage-SSCMG.html
  21. IMO neither. The reaction series are moderate action and won't give enough backbone for SBs or jigs. I like a fast action or even XF. They are nice crankbait rods though.
  22. Norman NXS and 5XDs.
  23. I have a 7'1" M casting model. I got it from the promotion they had when you buy 2 SC and get a Rage. IMO it's not as sensitive as a rod at that price should be. I'm also not a huge fan of the handle but its OK. It's not a bad rod overall but I'd rather pay another $20 and get an Avid.
  24. I broke the tips off 2 of my Cumara As by snagging them on my dock roof. Took them back and was given 2 news no questions asked. I have Loomis and St. Croix and the Shimano warranty is the best. For 1/2 jigs the 72MHXF is the way to go.
  25. It's not a problem it's supposed to be like that. I don't know Lexa specs but Citicas have 11lb max drag.
