I have both a 2016 ranger 520c and a tracker 175 wt ... I fish ky lake often ... unless I'm gonna flipping or pitching skipping under docks for sure ... I much prefer the hull and it's only a 16 foot 8 inch boat boat rides way better on the 3-4 foot days on Kentucky ... even then I can still pitch flip skip just fine out of the v hull ... I like it so much probably going to move to new ranger 1880ms or a Lund and sell the tracker
You did great
The new g2 line up 150 - 300 is about as good as gets now engine wise imho ... gas mileage is insane good and torque wow plus they look dam good with dude panels to match whatever you want
but I still prefer the quieter verados just because
I don't think it matters ... I've seen many 70,000 dollar plus bass boats that go almost 70 mph get ***** handed to them over and over again by 50-115 hp engine slow old boats in tourneys.
so I see no difference in the kayak question albeit I don't do kayaks
i dont eat bass ...
but ....
there is a reason the state wildlife and fisheries set limits and slots ...
becuase .... drum roll
those limits do not hurt that fishery with those limits on them ...
but i throw all bass back its my personal choice but i do not begrudge anyone for catching and eating their fish ... most credible studies have shown the limits and slot system works fine
I just dont see any advantage ever of using a baitcaster to skip with ...
I may be wrong and there may be some useful need for it Im overlooking ... but seems to me youll be FISHING a whole lot more using spinning tackle
i use them all year round
even in warmer months they are awesome protection against WINDBURN which I hate ... since moving from triton to ranger this past year its even more protection since ranger windshields are useless to boaters of average or taller height.
well you dont ...
HOWEVER... these look like Golden Shiners you can get in Florida
and I bid on a trip with shaw grigsby a few years back and won ..
we fished these golden shiners with shaw that looks kinda like these in florida along with articificial baits for two days and the 10 biggest fish of the two days ( all over 8 pounds one over 11 ) came from the golden shiners we used ...
so sometimes maybe big live bait drives bass wild ....
ive not been back to florida since or fished shiners since but the day we had 5-6 inch golden shiners in florida was unreal ... which is the reason I was wondering if these were any count and as lively as those goldens were ...
nothing wrong with throwing a couple out weightless to free swim while working traps and or jerkbaits IMHO
I am heading to guntersville next week and think im ordering some of these ... to take
what do you think ? waste of money or real deal on guntersville?
www.blacksalty.com
i am not affiliated with them at all... btw
I am a car dealer.
not advertising them ... just want feedback on htese dam good looking bass killers maybe!
I catch a Ton of smallmouth ticking the bottom rocks and cover on bandit 300 series crankbaits ... trolling them
i used to believe color mattered until i started breaking off crankbaits and jsut went with whatever odd color i had .. when trolling i guess its reaction more than color cuase they bite them all
drifting tubes is great as well
Ive only done this twice
most times in winter I freeline Live Shiners at Dale Hollow
but.. the two times we couldnt get shiners we did the floating fly
1st time we boated over 50 smallies 3-5 pounds
so we went back the next time to do it again becuase it was such a blast and in 6 hours caught about 4 keepers - kinda boring
so what little i have done it i think its either incredibly fun or broing and slow hehe
P.S.
neither time did we have specialized equiptment
just used 7 foot rattletrap rods i already owned and Pflueger President Spinning Reels
