  1. Thanks Delaware Tackle Valley. I'll check for those rough spots and maybe the re-spool too. Anyone else have any suggestions or aftermarket fixes? Thanks, Ben.
  2. Hey everyone. I have a Curado DPV (the 5.1 to 1) for my cranking reel. When I begin reeling in after a cast the line gets pulled to the side of the plastic line guide attached to the levelwind. This causes my line to get spooled lobsided, with more line to whatever side the line gets stuck on. Can I do anything about this? Thanks, Ben.
  3. Another direct answer. It's like Christmas.... ;D Thanks all.
  4. Thanks everyone. Just wanted to make sure I was in the ballpark at this stage of the game.
  5. Hey everyone, I'm just starting out and have been practicing this for a week or so. Three questions; 1. I'm pitching to about 24' to 28'. Is there a "normal" pitching distance? 2. What would a really long pitch be before you'd just make a roll cast, for instance. 3. At the end of the cast, where is your rod tip supposed to be pointing? Mine is about 11 o'clock...which I suspect is too high. Thanks for all info, Ben.
  6. I'm interested in feedback as well. anyone...anyone....Bueller.........
  7. From Above: I just ordered the 7'0" med/fast casting rod from Tackle Warehouse, no shipping charges, and they have a 15% off Memorial Day sale---Mojo for $76! Can't wait, unfortunately the rod's out of stock until June 10th or so. Thanks for the Tackle Warehouse tip. I also bought one for $76, but these rods are now on backorder until July 8. I spoke to a guy at TW and he said that St Croix didn't really expect a rod with a price point sub $100 to sell so well. He said St Croix is struggling to keep up with demand. Additionally, the TW guy said that he'd expect a bunch of new alternatives from other manufacturers in the very near future to be competitive with the Mojo at the sub $100 price point.
  8. Continuing the news from a earlier thread.... Gander Mtn is clearing their unsold Shimano 200-DPV's for $74.98. Bought two today from the Tonawanda, NY store. By the way, they had 2 more and the number is 716-743-2300. In case you need it, the UPC # is 022255074858. Just thought I'd share the love.
  9. Wow! Right on.... Thanks to everyone for the info. Just what I was looking for! I'll still listen if anyone else has anything to say... Thanks again, Ben.
  10. I'm looking to buy my first baitcaster and wanted to get started with something pretty decent. I've found tons of reviews and info on the Citica, but not too much on the Cruxis. Besides the obvious of what the Shimano website has, can anyone provide guidance in the differences between these two reels. Do's and Don'ts between these...etc. Are they SUPER different?...or pretty close. By the way, I have larger hands so last years Citica 200-D is larger and fits my hand better than the newer Citica-E model. Thanks for the help, first time poster
