  1. Awesome!!! Thanks for the info....I looked it up on ebay and could only find 1 like it going for $75 current bid..i think he was wanting $150 does that sound like to much?
  2. This is it.....that's the best way to use a spinner bait IMO. I do not have one spinner bait that doesn't have a nick or ding in it from banging it off something.
  3. best sport to watch...college football or MMA...favorite sport to do..play golf
  4. Just wondering if anyone had any info and what it may be worth on this trolling motor. A friend bought it with a john boat and there are no markings on it at all. The only thing he knows is that it is made by Johnson. Thanks!!!
  5. Lol No bubble busted ;D i was just curious..thanks for the info.
  6. Anyone know how the Elite series chooses which lakes to hold its tournaments at? Is it up to the state to persuade the tour to come to their state or lake, or do the sponsors get to choose where to have the tournament or is it chosen by some other means??
  7. Not necessarily a honey hole but a popular meeting spot on Lake Murray (SC) is called Hurricane Cove.
  8. I usually take it all. Most of my stuff stays in the boat anyways, so it would be time consuming to take it all out and put it back in. Plus the wife doesn't exactly smile brightly when i have all my fishing gear laying around the house. All of my stuff consist of 7 bait casters, 2 spinning rods, 3 big boxes of crank baits, a big box with chatter baits and jigs, a spinner bait box, and 3 large ziplocs containing about 5-7 bags of plastic each. And yes, i do use a little bit of everything when i go fishing. When i actually do get to go, i usually spend all day on the water, so in times that the fish are not biting, i will practice a part of my fishing that i do not use on a regular basis(currently that would be flipping and pitching).
  9. I have both the spinning and baitcast reel. Both have been very solid reels .The baitcaster (bought for $50.00) is used for cranking mostly and has worked very well. I will have to agree that compared to my other reels(mostly pro-qualifiers) it feels a little bigger. The spinning was my first rod and reel besides an ultralight(which is also a pflueger trion that is excellent) and has been extremly dependable it is matched with a 6'6" mh trion rod. Bought both for $35.00. Great reels for the money.
  10. The lake Murray big bass challenge. My first thought was to get some gulp and go striper fishing. All the BIG bass are cruising with the stripers feeding on bait fish. https://www.shakespeare-fishing.com/lake_murray/Lake_Murray_Tourney_2010.pdf
  11. Not sure what weight lure you are using but the symptoms sound like what i had when i first started using one. Try using a heavier lure to get the feel of the baitcaster, then down size from there.
  12. [quote author and the gami octopus too
  13. Any ideas??? this pond has a lot of algae on the bottom as well..
  14. haha i eat CFA prob. 3-4 times a week as my wife is the marketing director for one of our local CFA stores. Look for the spicy chicken biscuit and spicy nuggets soon!!!
  15. could you imagine if he forgot a tool he needed??? :'( ;D
  16. yep usually works for me.. If it runs to the right bend the eyelet left. If it runs left bend the eyelet right..Use caution though, the adjustment necessary to make it run correctly will be small.
  17. Hey guys, I have the pinnacle platinum plus reel and the thumb bar has broken off. I have had the reel for a while now and don't have the receipt so i cant take it back to where i bought it. I also know a few other people this has happened to and was wondering if this was a consistent problem and how it may be repaired. I was thinking of just gluing it back onto the bar. You guys think this would work? Has this happened to you? Just as a side note, the reel has been absolutely outstanding otherwise.
  18. thanks for the replies guys!!!!! i guess i should give some details ,the lake we fish is fairly large (lake murray sc) and we both know it ok and have our spots but by no means do we know the entire lake... i think that's why i like moving cause i get to see different scenery... ..and again thanks for the posts keep 'em coming!!
  19. Hello everyone!! Ok so i got a quick question not really a right or wrong just personal opinion. Me and a buddy were talking about the best way to fish with limited time say 4 hrs on the water. Of course we couldn't agree so we thought it would be fun to see how many people agreed with me and how many agreed with him. My side of things is that i prefer to fish with only one or two baits tied on and hit a lot of different areas without changing lures. His preference is to stay in one or two areas and try multiple lures..Which way do you like to spend on the water???
  20. Hello everyone!! I have been reading here and other places that for deep cranking that a longer rod which would cast farther would be the best choice. If you were to use the same weight lure on a 7' rod vs; a 7'6" rod how much distance would you gain on average and how much deeper would that get the lure? I ask this because currently i use a 7' with some success, but before i spend money on a longer rod i would like some input from those who use them. Also seeing as i have a smaller boat (17'6" nitro) the 7'6" rod would not fit in the locker and would have to be left out on the deck..Thank you!!
  21. What's up guys. Got a question for ya. I am trying to make a crank bait setup and i have a crank bait rod. My question comes with the reel. I would like to have a slower retrieve reel maybe a 5:4 to 1 ratio or something. I met a gentleman the other day that had a pinnacle reel ( i think it was call a maxium?) that seemed to be very well constructed(all metal 8 bearings) and it was a 4:7 to 1 ratio. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this reel or what your thoughts were on the ratio,i fi you think it may be to slow?? Also i must mention that he said the reel was no longer made and wanted $90for the reel, Good price or no?? Thanks for all your help...
  22. yep could be.. i looked it up and very similar...
  23. catfish and copperhead snake..as best we can tell some say brown water snake but when we looked it up most of the pics we saw resembled a copper head..
