Now those are words to live by! Before buying something, I try to ask myself: how does (that smooooth [and expensive] reel, expensive bait, excessive baits, etc.) put more fish in the boat (or on the bank). If the answer is that it doesn't, I can usually break the bond of the bait monkey. If you don't ask that question, or if you ask the question but ignore the answer, then you are a confirmed tackle junkie ! And that's OK.... ;D Oh but Goose that's where the bait monkey starts whispering "how do you know it want catch you more fish unless you buy it and try it ?" and thats what gets me everytime

Good post but not all crankbaits are to be fished mid water. Actually for me the best producing one is the one i posted earlier because i bounced it of the bottom. I find that the more i get a crankbait to deflect of something (usually the bottom surface) the better chances i have of something wanting to eat it.

There has to be a happy medium somewhere. On the other end of the spectrum if you only throw the baits you are confident with then you will never learn anything new. I usually like to break my time up on the water by giving equal time to a new technique and my confidence ones . That way when i leave i don't feel like i have wasted a day trying something i don't understand fully. BTW the current new technique i trying to learn is jig fishing. But until i learn this i will always have a jig tied on

Hi! My name Is Ima bass ninja and i'm a lureaholic For me it took a little time. If i was to guess i would say i was at least 6 months to a year for the bait monkey to fully climb on my back and whisper in my ear on a constant basis. Although i know there is no cure, through modern medicine i hope that one day there will be a powerful enough drug to quiet the monkey ever so slightly. ;D ;D

All of these are facts when comparing braid vs. fluoro, however it does not mean that braid is more desirable than fluoro. A lot of people choose to use fluoro over braid because of the reasons LCM pointed out not just because its low visabilty below the surface

so i take it those lures will not be thrown anywhere near something that might gobble it up never to be seen again huh? ;D ;D

HaHa never used on so can't say for effectiveness but always seemed a little gimmicky for the price you had to pay.

I got the ole cheapo from wal-mart about 3 years ago. Whether it makes a difference or not i cant say, but it gives me a better feeling of being protected. Its just one of those things that i would rather have regardless of if it actually works or not.

These along with being well built with a aluminum frame, gears etc. Flippin and pitchin are gonna be the hardest techniques on your equipment so you have to make sure your equipment is beefy enough to handle it.

Good advice right there. I think you just go with whatever brand and color you think work best, then choose them by the characteristics they have

If is doesn't make a difference then why would any tournament angler ever use anything other than a superline, except for in rocks? Pro's will always use anything they think gives them an advantage. Why? Because they don't have to pay for it. The big difference between them and us is the fact that we have to buy our products which makes us choose more discreetly whether a product actually is giving us more fish, or a better performance,thus justifying the amount of money we have just spent on the product. If an angler really doesn't think that fluoro gives him an advantage over mono then he certainly isn't going to shell out the money for the more expensive line..

Thanks for the replies guys..Seems like i may be missing fish or either the sonar is incorrectly determining a fish, either way seems like i will be better off learning to read it without the fish ID.
