  1. Silva is a counter puncher. He drops his hands to make his opponent attack and then counter them. Its a tactic used in his style of fighting. I don't see it as showboating. If he was just interested in showboating, then he would not be as respectful after the fights. I'll say it here first(and i may be eatin crow ) but jones WILL be the next light heavy weight champion in 6 weeks.
  2. Do you think its harder or easier to have family compete with you in your profession?

  16. I'd have to say pinnacle. I have 2 of them 1 still working (solene) and the other would work had i not used some parts for another reel. The solene has been a trooper of a reel. I have misused, abused, and just been down right mean to this reel and it keeps on going. I actually fell 1 time of a stump into some mud while fishing, and the rod and reel (the solene) were completely ( and i do mean completely) covered in mud. I took the reel and knocked the mud off and kept on fishing. I still haven't taken anything apart and properly cleaned it and that was 6 months ago, yet it still casts just as far and reels in smoothly.
  17. Here's your answer. I asked my mom, who has been sewing for the better part of 30 yrs to make some rod socks for me . Thinking that this will save money and i will be able to customize them as we go, it would be a good project. The first item we encountered was the material itself. We tried different one's but most were to heavy and really laid hard on the tip of the rod. We finally decided on a material much like the outer layer of a wind breaker jacket. This works well because its slick enough to ride over the rod guides and lite enough not to cause damage to the tip of the rod. Next was length, we solved this problem by simply making each one the same length and then sewing some velcro on the end so i could fold the end over and velcro it to length i needed. Next was the inside stitching, since i had no knowledge of this area, i left it up to moms to decide what was best. After several tries the best solution was to double stitch the inside seam. A single stitch kept getting hung up on the rod guides. The last thing was to sew some velcro to the bottom to secure it in place. After all was said and done, we spent more time, and money building these than actually ordering some. To quote my mom after all was said and done " if you want any more of these things you're gonna have to buy them" ;D ;D. It was a fun build and we actually made six of them the last ones went pretty smooth thank goodness here's some pics of the one's made
  18. I personally can't wait to see what they come up with. I will definitely have a few in my boat.
  19. Nope not a must..Plenty of fish have be caught throughout history without the benefits if braided line. Its just another tool in fishing.
  20. Funny ;D..but not true.http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/cold%20enough%20to%20freeze%20the%20balls%20off%20a%20brass%20monkey.html
  21. Bet he cant roll cast past the front of the boat ;D ;D ;D.. I used to work out Constantly...meaning 5-6 days a week 3 hours a day. Although i never got to this guys size (wasn't my goal) i learned what it took. You have to dedicate your life to be that bulky. BTW most of the people i worked out with competed in competitions and usually they would walk around with alot of body fat and looked more like football linemen than body builders. When a competition was coming up they would diet hard to lose fat and expose the muscles like the guy in the picture. So its a no for me , i would rather dedicate my time chasing a lazy, obese, aquatic vertebrae ;D ;D
  22. hope i get the link right.. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1282858719
  23. Probably the reason they don't sell them is to prevent someone from stealing the knob one day, and then coming back the next day and buying the reel at a discounted price..
