  1. Been thinking of getting one more baitcast reel a rotate out on old pfluger purist that i use. I am torn between these two. Gimmie your thoughts and which one you would choose thanks. Cabela's Prodigy B- on sale 69.99 Pflueger Trion- On sale in town for 59.99 Thanks
  2. You can't go wrong with a BPS pro Qualifier for 79.99....pair that with a abu garcia vendetta for 79.99 and you have a great combo that will last. Also looks pretty sweet together.. ALWAYS check the flea market forum on this website you will find some GREAT deals from some wonderful people.
  3. Not sure if they have it for droid but fishing spots on iphone is great. It shows all the ponds and lakes close to where you are at.
  4. Exact same thing my Tierra does...first time it happened i bout fell out the boat it scared me so bad!
  5. Just keeping you on your toes my man!! I agree some opinions are what others have heard instead of first hand knowledge. I have only used one Daiwa reel and thats a tierra. Its ok but not the best in my book. I've always thought the exceler was to good to be true and you know what they say about that. Looking at them side by side in your hands though i will say there is a BIG difference in the 2 reels.
  6. The exceler has an aluminum frame. http://www.daiwa.com/reel/detail.aspx?id=233
  7. This video will tell ya alot. When a bass grabs a crawfish it first grabs it , Then spits it out in order to position itself to grab it from the rear so that the pinchers can't do any harm. notice at .15 when he gets it away from the other bass . I always felt a tap, set the hook and reeled in empty line until i seen this video. heres another with a smallmouth same thing, spits it out the eats it.
  8. How long before the major manufactures have there version out?? .i bet Strike King already has one in the works..
  9. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!I. The accomplishment was getting accepted and you have done that, no one can take that away from you. Now the next one is to go, enjoy your college years, but don't forget why you are there....
  10. Had to go with the texas rig...........plastic worms have been catchin fish in all seasons for many years and will continue to do so for many more..
  11. Borrowing money from a lender is not free and being able to afford it can change very rapidly.
  12. Why would the cast control have any bearing on the spooling of the reel??
  13. IF and i say IF financing is your only option then your best bet would be a home equity or other low interest loan. The facts are loans on recreational equipment( which is what a boat is) are going to have extremely high interest rates because of the low resale value and high default rate of recreational equipment. Having said that there is no substitute for cash period.
  14. I read somewhere (i think it was bassmater website) that you had to use a heavy (50# or better mono or flouro) line in order for the line to not tangle. Any truth to this and if so that may be my problem as i am currently using #12 co-poly. Thanks!!
  15. Hey guys, I've been trying to get this rig working correctly cause it is a great rig on my home waters. Every time i try it though the 2 lines get tangled together. I put one swivel free floating on the main line with about a 2 foot leader and then the fluke and another swivel tied to the main line with about a 3 foot leader . It seems for some reason the one that is supposed to float up and down the main line gets trapped on the one tied and then the 2 lines start getting tangled up. Anyone know what i may be doing wrong here??? Thanks!!
  16. You can remove epoxy safely from graphite by holding a utility knife perpendicular to the blank and going back and forth up and down the blank. The trick is to make sure you don't hold the blade at an angle and keep the blade straight or you WILL cut the blank. I used this technique for years on graphite shafted golf clubs and never had a problem. Or you could get something like this http://www.golfsmith.com/products/48715/Golfsmith/1_Inch_X_42_Inch_Shaft_Prep_Belt which also works well. FYI, i currently use the first method for my fishing poles these days.
  17. Whats the difference between Lebron and saturn??...Lebron aint got no rings.. Why can't LeBron drive a stick shift???because he don't have any clutch..
  18. Daddys little girl
  19. I've got all three of them. Not bad looking baits but i have never caught anything on them. I use them for guest on the boat that don't have their own gear ,as i prefer to use the Red Eye shads.I bought mine at K-mart for $3.
  20. Strike King red Eye shad Chartruese w/ brown back Strike King 4s square bill White w/ brown back H2O Square bill Chartreuse w/ brown back
  21. I had a chance to attend a "Meet the Elites" event while the pros were in town for the carolina clash this week. This was a great event where the elite anglers gave testimonials to there faith and a few fishing tips along the way. I thought i would post some of the pics here for you guys to enjoy. Sorry for the crappy photos but i had left the camera at home and had to take them with my phone. And my personal favorite picture
  22. I own a 2000 nitro nx 750 dc and absolutely love it. It has never let me down and got me from point A to point B plenty fast enough .
  23. At first i wasn't gonna comment on any of the goings on about this , just follow it to its conclusion, but after it has eatin at me over the weekend i gotta say my piece. First it was great to participate in, i had a great time doin it and would do again. I caught the biggest bass i have ever caught at my home lake on one of the lures i got from the swap(thanks fishin hard it was the chartreuse and black H2O). Based on the thread here's what should be going to hookinem.... 3 packs of Trokar hooks, zoom plastics(that hookinem origanally put in),bomber long A, natrual IKE, 1 pack YUM money minnow,SK sexy shad swim jig, Rage Chunk, soft plastic spiders, H2O jerkbait, storm split tail minnow, 1 revolution shad, storm swim shad, 1 MonteSS chatterbait black/blue, Sk 6xd,senkos,LC red craw, LC black yellow, sebile, zoom fluke, rage craws,lc pointer, lipless cranks(type unknown), chigger craws, plastic worms(type unknown), zara spook, and gamakatsu hooks. Now Luke, if you're wondering why you are being questioned, its because you have conflicting statements in your post , You don't need to follow the thread to post takes and picks. It was supposed to be part of the courtesy extended to the 10 people associated with this swap. You are the only one that failed to do so. Also you stated that there were a lot of plastics ,but you took out 2 hard baits and put in....PLASTICS?? How can you complain about to many plastics and then contribute to the number that was in there. And yes i know you put some lipless cranks in there too. This is a "lure "swap and plastics last i recall were fishing lures. This was not in your original post, how come you didn't mention it before? And i thought you had enough plastics? So from my estimation you took a $20 pop max bait, $10 Storm magic swimmer(im guessing on this one) and a $5 bag of culprit worms. Then you put in $3 havoc baits, Plastic worms(guessing $5?) so to be fair the lipless cranks should be worth at least $22. After all we did state before hand that , respectfully , people should put in dollar wise as much as they took out. If that's the case then good for you , but your lack of information and conflicting statements leads us to believe otherwise. This lure swap was not about trading up. Its about getting lures you wouldn't normally get or be able to get and trying new things. If you came into this swap with the intention of profiting off trading lures, then you had the wrong mindset to begin with. Last but not least, anyone not associated with this swap is entitled to there opinion, but negative comments will only lead to more negative comments and that's not what this thread was supposed to be about.
  24. The only problem with a lanyard is that when you bend over to pick somethin up it will hang down and possibly get in the way..I use one of these...Retractable key chain w/ toenail clippers. It hooks to your belt or just to your waist band, its outta the way and the toenail clipper are a bit bigger to give you more cutting power and easier to work with in the cold.
