  1. That is the best thing I read all day...I'll be laughing till tomorrow on that one...thanks!!!
  2. I just picked up a 3500 exceler (see here ) but have only used it once. It felt great to me and performed well. Only time will tell if it holds up though.
  3. It depends on how heavy the cover is. Graphite framed reels( such as the silver max) tend to flex when put under stress and then the gears won't line up correctly leading to some malfunctions.
  4. I think if they just changed the way the conferences were set up and then let the 2 best conference champions play for the national title it would solve alot of issues. It was very clear that Alabama and LSU were the best 2 teams in there conference and should have played each other for their conference title not the National Championship...... Also on a side note i heard last night on a news cast that the BCS is already looking to change the system and may be going to a conference champions playoff system
  5. Sam? Sam? has anybody seen Sam? I would like to hear what he has to say on the subject.......Sam? Sam?....
  6. That Academy will quickly become your best friend when it comes to gear. They have some great deals and great lookin stuff. I was all about the bps stuff till Academy came to town.
  7. I have not tried the elite yet but as stated before the regular has a tons of memory and a bit stiff. I solved the memory issue with some ardent line butter and after fishing a bit I actually came to like the stiffness.
  8. See that's my problem with KVD as a salesman,he shows no enthusiasm. Its like buy or don't i don't care. Really doesn't look like he's excited about the product so why should i be? And certainly doesn't make me believe that its something i need to have. All good salesman will make you want to buy there product.
  9. H2O Ethos-$59.99.......H2O Mette reel---$49.99 (baseing reel soley on reviews and the fact that i really love the Ethos rod) From what i gather these 2 go on sale a couple of times a year. the rod goes for $39.99 and reel for $25.00 so on sale you'd spend $65.00 for a awesome set-up.
  10. Man that stinks. I just got to where I could watch those shows last year and now it's not on anymore..... Poop!!
  11. One of my wife's favorite stories is 2 kids she taught in kindergarten named orangelo and yelangelo..... Named after orange jello and yellow jello ...:-)
  12. Academy makes some good stuff. Bout the only thing of there's I haven't had on the water is there reels but I did handle them in the store. I love there H2O hardbaits and their Ethos rods. So I gues next on the list is their reels.
  13. The Berkley bionix is a good wally world rod also. I own 2 in the crank bait model and they have served me well. But if you can go up $10 and have an Academy near ya try out the H2O ethos rod they sell. Just picked 3 of them up and I absolutley love these rods. I actually took back 2 vendettas so I could get em
  14. You always see on tv the pros set the hook and then have a fish on the line. The thing they don't show is the 20 hook sets before that one that came up empty. There's a basic feel when worm or jig fishing but not always the case, like many have said even if you think theres something there go ahead and set the hook.
  15. You shoulda grabbed 3 or 4 of them since he was being a jerk
  16. Depends on what you are comparing them to ..Costas with the 400 poly lens is gonna be about the same in all aspects of polorization, but costas with the 580 glass lens there will be a huge difference. The 580 lens is by far the best for fishing IMO but they will cost ya.
  17. For shallow cranking I like medium Power moderate action. For the deeper stuff I like the MH power moderate action rods
  18. The only thing i could find on SCDNR. But considering they recommend using umbrella rigs in 35' of water for stripers then i think were ok Methods and Devices Game fish may be caught with only hook and line, fly rod, casting rod, pole and line or hand line. Not more than 2 of these devices may be used by any fisherman at the same time, except when fishing in a boat. An unlimited number of lawful fishing devices may be used if every boat occupant (who would normally be required to have a fishing license) possesses a valid fishing license.
  19. Well i thought about wrapping it with something but it just seemed strange that a rod would not be able to be used with a certain reel. But i guess thats just one more way to get you to buy more of there products Custom fit rods and reels..lol. I ended up just takin it back and gettin a vendetta. I already have 2 of them and really like em which is why i wanted to try the Veritas.
  20. So i just got a Veritas rod and went to put my pflueger president on it and after tighning all the way down the reel was still lose..I thought this was strange so i got another reel a Daiwa Zillion and guess what it didn't fit either. But when i put a PQ on it everything was fine. Anyone have these problems with the Veritas rod before? P.S. i ended up just getting a Vendetta.
  21. Have you considered an intercostal bass boat?
  22. WTG!!! ....NIce shirt pitfall was the best
  23. Pitch 2012 classic KVD or the field
  24. We have a guy locally that does this. He gets trade ins defective/blemished rods and reels from bass pro shops then sells them at the local flea market for cheap( $40 PQ's $20 carbon lite rods etc.) But he also has some junk.. I've been lucky and had good sucess with this although i do get to hold and inspect the stuff before i buy it.
