  1. I agree that was one of the better segments. I also really enjoyed his segment in the magnum shakey heads. I actually enjoy Stacy king advice too. I'm sure I'd enjoy ott Defoe if he ever does one. probably the only one I haven't gotten much use from is Brain Snowden. Not because of him but what they had him teaching.
  2. My sentiments exactly
  3. I had one .... As described it was junk... Now I will say this was not the new blue ones they have now but the experience I had with the previous one pretty much threw them out as a reel for me.... Just for specifics the anti reverse bearing went out on me while fighting a small fish
  4. Thats awesome! i have one that is very similar but i have had near the success you have had with yours.. That King shad has been through the riggers but i gotta say i love the one eyed zell pop and xr50 the best .....man just looking at em i can imagine the fish that have waled on those baits!!
  5. Very cool!! Can't wait to see it
  6. I agree that it is a great show with lots of information. But, i would like to hear advice from some of the other pros.....if i hear "it really has an erratic action to it" one more time i may just pull what little hair i have left on my head out. I do believe KVD is the only person that imparts an erratic action when dead stickin a senko....
  7. I don't perceive it as that. I actually enjoy seeing the best of the 2 major tours going at it .. I think its just another circuit created BY professional anglers to bridge the gap between FLW and B.A.S.S..
  8. Should be renamed to KVD and friends....sheesh...i've watched every episode this season and they use him for just about every major segment they have. I have seen Stacy King 1 time and Ott Defoe do none of them. I'm sorry but i would like to get off the KVD express and hear from some of the other really talented anglers they have. i am now done ranting now ...carry on!
  9. The sacrifices that you are making on behalf of our country are greatly appreciated. It is only because of our military men and women such as yourself that we remain the greatest country in the world. My prayers will go with you and for your family at home.
  10. Probably not. Its really going to boil down to consumer confidence, aesthetics, and feel. At least it did for me. I liked the look of the PQ better and already had confidence in there product and when i palmed it just seemed to fit better in my hands than any of the others.
  11. Can't really say as far as the comparison because i have never used a citica. I know that Shimanos are highly respected among the members here but for me i was so impressed with the PQ line of reels i never bought any of the others.
  12. probably the PQ for me. Its a proven quality reel. Something about the enigma reel just doesn't sit right with me. It just seems "gimmicky".
  13. Now THAT is one awesome lure !!....I love the fact it only has 2 hooks on the rear treble, just adds that much more character .
  14. I love to look at all the old used hardbaits that i have and still produce. I can look at different marks and imagine/remember what made it. So lets see those well producing beat up old hard baits that never let you down. Here's 1 of mine
  15. Yea last year my cover tore and the boat had to sit for a couple of months before i could get another one. I've heard that about the uv rays . I was gonna put a good wax with the uv inhibitor on it after every thing was completed. I thought about ordering it but then i'd have to pay shipping and i hate to pay more than what the product actually retails for. Its a defect in my genetic makeup i believe
  16. It was Terry Scroggins that was marking the beds with the stick. He was actually marking that specific bed that he caught the 12+ pounder on. But no i would not throw the male back because there is no guarantee that you will catch the female anyway and if you don't you are out 3+ pounds.
  17. Hey guys just wanted to share this with ya. My boat had a nasty little oxidation problem and since i didn't have anywhere close by that sold BTS that has been highly recommended i decided to use 3m restorer and wax. The end product was awesome and shines like a new boat. Heres some before / during/ and after pics although in the last pic it was gettin late and was in the shade. And sorry for the crappy phone pics.. Before During After
  18. This Clown has killed more people than any of them...lol...J/K
  19. I like reels that have the same basic size and shape to them .. Even though they may not be the exact same thing going from a big wide spool reel to one that is smaller and more compact would set my ocd into overdrive. This is the reason i stick mostly to PQ's for my setups. I do have a pflueger in there to but its basically the same shape and size of the other in my arsenal. I had 2 Daiwas 1 that i tried to use and 1 that never made it onto a rod and both were probably higher quality reels than what i currently use but since they didn't feel like the others that i had become accustom to, they had to go. Bottom line is if it don't feel right then it ain't gettin used.
  20. Looks like the side with the dock is gonna be your most productive spot. Is there any other cover other than the dock on the pond? Also is the water coming in the pond or going out of the drain pipe in the second video to the left? With the cooler water temps i would concentrate on the deeper areas of the pond with slow moving spinner baits or maybe use some worms or jigs moving very slowly. When the water temps rise i would try casting lures parallel to the bank.
  21. Very nice!!! Congradulations
  22. You take incredibly good care of your equipment. That stuff looks like it just came outta the box.
  23. I've tried to do this on some of the spinnerbaits that have some corrosion on them , and i have had little if any success. Most of the time the wire just breaks off (this happens mostly with SK stuff) . Any body got any tips to keep the wire from breaking?
  24. I completely agree that fluoro has more abrasion resistance than braided line. The braided line does transmit more vibration but when it comes to rocks or other structure the braid just won't hold up. Braided line excels in grass because it has more breaking strength per diameter than any other line and grass isn't a hard enough substance to actually cause any damage to the line. But as always, each user has to make up there own mind as to what will work best for them.
  25. Well that will be a topic I won't touch. I happen to be a pflueger /pq man myself but the point I was trying to make is once you find a brand that you like why not just stay with that brand. Just about every manufacturer makes a reel that will handle whatever need you may have.
