  1. The only put in upriver is in Alston state park. I think that is the official name. It's a nice park but many people put in and just hang around that area . The reason being that the only other take out is harbison which is a lllooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnngggg ways away. I wouldn't attempt the trip. The best thing is to try and find someone that lives on the river and ask if they will let you take out and then you and a fried could float down the river and fish the rapids which is where most of the smallies hang out. The smallies are ok, I have seen some big ones, large mouth are good on the river too. The fishing was much better 3-4 yrs ago before we got the first of many floods but it is still really good. The access to them stinks which is probably why the fishing is good.
  2. That's what they said when they played Notre dame, fl state, n.carolina, and Oklahoma. Problems they just keep winning.
  3. Clemson all the way. I love that we are the underdogs....again.
  4. Spurrier lost his passion 2 years ago. He has let spurrier Jr. Call plays the last 2 seasons. Contrary to previous post USC is not a adv major conference job. The school has the highest level of facilities, a great fan base, and I'm sure as spurrier said himself " the pay ain't bad." I went to yesterday's game without spurrier and even though it wasn't packed ( mostly due to the state fair) there was plenty of support that came out. USC will have several years of rebuilding regardless of who takes the HBC job as their talent is lacking at the moment.
  5. The hop-n-flop jig
  6. Daiwa t3mx I Got from a friend while I was in Japan. I plan on looking at the new alphas on this years trip.
  7. i agree. I deal with specs and tolerances all day. I imagine all quantum reels charteristics fall within the tolerances of the designed specs or else they wouldn't make to the shelves. Ahh the world of quality control.it can be a feisty and complicated one!.
  8. I used the clear quick set epoxy from Walmart on mine to fill all types of cracks and hole. When I first got it it filled up with water in about 3hrs. After epoxy not a drop for 2 years till I sold it.
  9. I've tried just about all of em and have settled on Norman speed clips. Great snaps and the only ones I will use these days.
  10. Vendetta 2 has a 7'6" heavy. Good rod for the money.
  11. You will see more distance gained by changing golf balls and shafts than clubs. As a former custom club maker I can tell you there are some gains in club heads but very minimal. the shaft is the engine of the club. Theball spin and launch angle directly relates to distance gained.
  12. The broad river is where I catch smallmouth in sc. I have also heard that lake Monticello is a good place for small mouth. But the most exciting recent news is a 3lbs smallmouth weighed in a tournament on lake murray!,,
  13. "Not so fast " Sam I am! Although texas last game was a butt whoopin by the horny frogs of TCU Strong Charlie will motivate and elevate his Longhorns to 6pt victory over the hogs.
  14. Thoughts and prayers sent.
