Spiral wrapped rods have been around a long time. The purpose is to stop torsional twist of the rod - (tip twisting under load) It is used in saltwater gear more than fresh.
Yes, I have them - I don't see a marked difference fishing for bass.
" He said that if you just use a straight retrieve you are cheating yourself. " What he should have said is, if you only use a straight retrieve you are cheating yourself. Bump and run, or yoyoing the bait is nothing new. Use varied retrieves and you will find what they want, assuming that bait is working at the moment.
The weight varies by depth desired: 1/2 ounce is good to about 3-4 feet on a steady retrieve - 3/4 ounce is good to about 5-7 feet.
If your system is 12/24 then two breakers - if it is only 12 or 24 volt than one breaker.
With a 12/24 sytem you will have two positive leads and one ground hence the need for two breakers. With a 24 volt system you only have one positive lead hence the need for one breaker.
Thinking back as far as I can, (mind you that's only a short period), fishing has always cost money, with their being the high end and the low end. No different than anything else we do.
Nope, not turned off. Might I suggest that horseshoes may be something you might enjoy more.
A staple of the Bhuddist diet in SE Asia is fish - the guy that wrote that article was a peta-bhuddist.
Pain is a human thing - do some animals feel pain? Yep. Do fish feel pain? Highly unlikely.
Next time you catch a sunny try swallowing it whole and later tell me about the pain you encountered. Bass do it daily.
It's GPH(gallons per hour), not MPG(miles per gallon), when you measure efficiency of gas usage of a boat. Your speed over water can vary greatly from one hour to the next when running on a given day, but your fuel usage at 4000 RPM will remain constant. SOW(speed over water) is not the same as SOG(speed over ground) unless all things are calm so learn what your unit burns in GPH and you will never run out of fuel.
How to find out your fuel consumption: simply run a course for one hour and refill the tank.
How to find speed over ground: a GPS will give you that assuming you can run in a straight line.
This is important to know and understand if for example you plan a longer trip with your boat. Wind and current will alter your MPG but not your GPH. Learning to caculate fuel consumption in a marine enviornment is important if you operate on bigger bodies of water.
Depending on the depth you want to run and speed you want the bait to move. The fish depicted above was caught weightless in lilly pads.
This one was caught just below the surface coming through some bullrush using a 1/4 ounce weight.
This one was caught about 3.5 feet down using 3/16 ounce weight.
Rigged T-rig, skin hooked - speed medium to slow.
If in fact they were shad and the bass won't hit try this old time presentation: Roadrunner
Deadly for when the bass are hitting smaller shad in a frenzy.
The correct answser is all of the above - convienence is the deciding factor not type. Unlike the human that asks "what's for dinner", bass ingest the nearest and easiest.
Take me fishing.
Because I get the giggles
when the boat bounces.
Take me fishing.
You can think about
