I bought the BBZ slowsink in the dirty shad about 2 months ago. I also fished it from shore, at local Shallow ponds. What I do is cast out, count to 4 and Slowly reel, then stop, give a Small twitch, and start over again..I found out that if you keep your rod tip way down, the BBZ will run a tad deeper at a slower pace, which let it swim that much better.
The ponds I fish are 3-5' deep, and loaded with weeds, and snotgrass, so I try to keep mine about 2' below the surface. Use a heaver line, i.e. I'm using 10lb yozuri hybrid ultrasoft on my baitcaster.
I tried it with my spinnig rig, 8 lb yozuri, and it tends to run a bit higher in the water, not much though. Still waiting for a bass to Explode on mine.. ;D
