  1. Geez, don't some of you guys Read the post's....?
  2. I got the Chronarch bpv...which imho is a Better reel, check the specs on both reels. As for getting another Shimano...I like Shimano..
  3. I use both..usually cuz the tackel shop is out of 1 style in gammie's, so I'll grab the owners..I really can't tell the difference. Although I must admitt, I favor the gammies due to their reputation.
  4. I bought the clipons, and imho, they Suck..for less $$$ I went to wallyworld, and bought the strike king glasses for under 20.00. Granted, I have to switch to my rx glasses to change lures, but at least I don't get that awful glare from the sides and behind me..
  5. I agree, have fun..and when in doubt, dropshot..lol
  6. Shoot, almost any plastic works on C rig, my fave is a 6" roboworm in a few different colors. A bait that I think may be my goto bait, is the ragetail lizard..this thing has major action..
  7. Re: rigs, I was looking at the zebco spincasting set ups for youngsters, found one that should be just the ticket for about 34.00, sorry can't recall the modle # for the combo, but I'm sure you can find it on BPS's site.. As for baits, what the heck, tie on a spinner bait..lol jk..
  8. A new swimbait is born..even if it takes Squinty eyes to see it.. Nice work Micro..
  9. Ahhh, never thought about that. Ok. so I traded up for a "slightly better " reel..how's that..?
  10. Can you exsplain that for me..?
  11. Ummm, 109.00 vs 269.00... o.k...I'll bite, you don't think the Chronarch is better than the cardiff...?
  12. So, about 2 1/2 weeks ago, I bought a swimbait/jig rig. Shimano Calcutta rod, and a Shimano Cardiff reel. Well the clutch bar on the cardiff kept disengaging, happened 3 times, today was the 3rd, and I got a Major overrun..argh! So, I call the tackleshop where I bought it, asked if I should take it to Shimano, or can we work out a deal, he says bring it in, and I'll see what I can do. So I go in, he looks at it, noticing the rash on the top of the reel, which I told him about before I took it in. He says , whatcha wanna do, I said can I upgrade, he said sure, I ask a few questions about the Curado, and the Chronarch, I wound up getting the chronarch 101bppv..before he rang it up, he said Wait, i think someone has a sale on them, so he looks in western outdoor news, and sure enough, $50.00 off the going price, so I get the chronarch for 50 bucks less, and get imho a way better reel..I'm a happy camper...the guys at my local tackle shop are Great! Oh, the name of it...Long Fin Tackle in orange county so. cali. 8-)
  13. Excatly...I use yozuri, which is rated way lower, i.e. 10 lb is closer to 20 lb..so I go from 6 to 12 lb test.
  14. Along with what was already suggested, I'd check your casting Technique, sometimes, and I do this now and then.. :-[ is to Snap your wrist hard. When is the backlash happening..? If it's at the begining of your cast, then it's the brakes, if it's toward, or at the end, then it's the spool friction/your thumb. I have my reels set pretty loose, you may try and tighten the spool friction knob, although your distance will suffer somewhat, at least you won't have to untangle your line.
  15. If I'm clearing a overrun, could a loooong time..lol Seriously, at a minium to a count of 30, usually 60..then I give the rod tip about 4-6 quick, short twitches, let it sit, and do the same over..Sometimes I'll slowroll a t rid'd worm, I try different things, until the fish tell me what they want. Unless it's a C rig, I use my rod to do all the action, my reel only takes up slack in the line.
  16. Chris, call your cities sanitation dept. they are the ones that usually pick for recycleing, maybe they can tell you if they can or can't..
  17. Good find..must be a reginal thing..out here, deals like that are Very rare, 99% of guys think their gear is worth it's weight in gold..lol I look at CL everyday...someday, I'll find a deal like that.
  18. Word...buy the YoZuri in the 600 yd spools, should be about 12.00. I get mine from a local tackle shop, who also sells online. As they aren't an advertiser I won't post the name,. or link, pm me if you want. They are located in so.cali. They carry a ton of yozuri..
  19. I heard that the Revo sx will cast well with light lures..anyone know that to be a fact..?
  20. All of our old line goes into some kind of recycable container, and gets recycled..I have drug up 100's of yards of line out of lakes, taken it home and disposed of it properly..
  21. I have a couple bc'rs, one for swimbaits, the other for jigs, but can be used for worming..Like others, I find that I can use my spinning rigs with more acuracy, guess I'm just wierd...lol IMHO, there isn't any fish you can't haul in with a spinning rig vs a bc, although I do prefer the feel of a bc.
  22. As per their site, the RageTail Anaconda comes in 7 & 10", not 12" I'd still go with the anaconda, the action on em is outstanding..
  23. Nope...just get em back in the water asap
  24. Re: swimbait rods, depending on how heavy your swimbaits are...if your going to stay under 2 oz..then I'd recomend the Shimano Calcutta rod..even though it's rated up to 1 oz, it'll handle heavier baits. btw, I toss my Mattlures hard bluegill, that weighs 1.65 ozs. with no problem.
