  1. I shoulda known better than to ask that question..LOL!
  2. I have a 2 pc. 7'6" Shimano Clarus..never had any issues..re: sensitivity, and no it's not as good as say my Calcutta is, but is used for longer cast's from shore, I DS, T rig, C rig, and toss weightless plastic's with it..Down side is I use to have to realigned, so now, I use electrical tape on the joint, as I never break it down..To be honest, do I prefer to fish with a 2 pc...No, but I got a deal on it..so I use it.
  3. Reel....Shimano Stradic 2500 Rod...Crucial 6'6" mf, or mhf...I toss alot of weightless plastic's to.. Line...Yozuri Hybrid Ultrasoft 8lb.
  4. Nothing to add, except re: casting into the wind..which I do often..I found that lower sidearm cast works best to get the bait out further, I try to keep my arm (right) at about 2 to 3 oclock, as with golf, a lower trajectory will get you more distance.
  5. Why don't people Smile anymore...are you not having a good time..?
  6. Been doin it that way for years..never had a problem.. Also the op didn't say what size reel, nor what lb line he's using..
  7. I can rig it in every single rigging technique I now. Absolutly.......
  8. If it's wacky style, Senco..reg way...roboworm. I do ds with all kinds of plastic's from flukes to creaturs to ..well, you name it...lol
  9. I also spray it on my guides too...
  10. Looks really nice..good luck tomorrow, let us know how it goes..
  11. I compared the 2 also, and wound up with the Chronarch 101bpv..
  12. If you must have a shad looking worm, the roboworm Hologram shad has been a producer for me..They also have soft shad swimbaits you could ds with...
  13. Good score...to bad our wallyworld isn't like yours... >
  14. Thanks Braunuss..Normally where I fish there's not alot of timber ect, there are however rocks. If I do lose a bait, I'll certainly take your recomendation re: CXX. Just for the record so to speak, if I were to be fishing around timer ect, then I would definitly go up in line size, oth, I've never used p line, might just try some..thanks again.
  15. Thank you sir...much appreciated. On Edit, tied the new line on as per your recomend, and it works Great! now I can save some $$$ for another new rod..lol Thanks again.
  16. On my bps extrem, I got a nasty birdsnest..don't ask how it happened..anyways, I got to thinkin, what a waste to scrap almost 75 yrds of line. So is there any reasone I can tie on new line to the old, which isn't more than 3 weeks old..lol btw, the line is yozuri 10lb ultrasoft, would like to tie the same type on if possible...??? Also, what be the best knot...? as always, TIA.
  17. If I do have issues, you'll be the first to know... i just prefer to keep my baits, that's all...i'm surprised that you've never had any issues
  18. Why all the doubting..re: my line..? No offence, but sometimes you can go to far with line, i.e. needing 20lb when a lighter line will do.
  19. you throw 2oz baits on 12 or 10lb line? Yup...
  20. I agree with Raul..the Clarus is a good value.
  21. I probably shouldn't reply, but here goes. I never used that model, however do have the Clarus, and Calcutta, and love em both, what I'm sayin is imho, Shimano rods are a good value, maybe not The best, but for the $$$$ a very good deal. I'd buy more if I could afford it.
  22. I don't throw real heavy swimbaits, 2 oz max. mostly Mattlures hard bluegills...My rig is a shimano 7'6" calcutta, reel is shimano Chronarch 101...I use either 12, or 10 lb Yozuri Hybrid ultrasoft. If your tossin heavier baits, I'd bump the test up accordingly, also depends on structure too.
  23. Shoot, almost forgot ...you can also dropshot flukes too.
  24. Today I was fishin my rage toads with a 5/0 1/8 oz keel hook. The bite was nada so I startin practicing my casting, heaven knows I need it..lol Anyway, this was on my spinning rig...so , I sidearm a very low cast, about 2 1/2' off the water, low n behold, I skippeg my toad 3 times, and it went about 4-5 ' just guessin on the distance. Also I tried different retrives, slow, fast and whippin the rod..make for some great action on the toads. Also rigged my rt lizard up that way too..like it better than a bullet weight t rigged.
  25. FWIW....I have had nesting bluegill attack my rt lizard ..and annaconda's..pesky little critters..lol Only reason I know this is cuz I saw em...I still set the hook, just in case.. I've been putting Megastrike on some of my RT baits..
