  1. I'll say this as past weight lifter, and now an old geezer at almost 74. You look like a 35 year old yungun..Nice work Andy..
  2. Ha...Fat chancethat would happen..
  3. I think what you may need to do is be aware of the Bite detection. In other words have one of your fingers in contact with the line at all times, and also watch your line closely. To me, it sounds as though you may be waiting to long to set the hook. As soon as you feel a tic, reel down and sweep your rod to the side, no need to swing for the fences with those baits. I've gut hooked a bass once in all the years I've been fishing. Keep in mind, a bass can inhale, and then spit your bait in the blink of an eye, so you need to react accordingly.
  4. 7 total. 6 baitcasters and 1 spinning rig.
  5. So, they discharged my wife this afternoon, mostly cuz Medicare couldn't justify her staying in the hospital, when she has to travel 1 1/2 hrs to the treatment center. I'm happy she's home, but then I wonder, was that move in her best interest..? So now an ambulance comes to the house to transport her 30+ miles one way, which the round trip takes about 3 hrs or more.. One thing she said to me today that really unsettled me was, that she's not sure how long she has to live, I said you can't think like that, you have to stay Positive, and decide that your going to beat this. I sure hope she changes her outlook..
  6. Yep, could have been worse If I would have filled my 35 gal tank up..lol
  7. Remarkable that she recovered...
  8. Last night got $ 60.00 worth of diesel fuel, and even though prices have dropped some, I got a whopping 9 gals for my 60 bucks. Things are looking up..?
  9. Ditto on the Irod frog rod for tossing the Mattlures gill.
  10. Here are some suggestions..?
  11. Again just want to Thank all of you for your kind words and Prayers, they help alot..
  12. I have 3 Diawa Tatula XT's. Great rod for about $ 100.00. Very light, pretty dang good action too. I don't have any XT spinning rods, but I'm sure they are just as good as their baitcasters.
  13. I to can't live with out an anti reverse, when Shimano stopped adding it from it's spinning reels, I went with Diawa..Pretty happy with it over the last 1 1/2 years.
  14. Mosquito hooks work much better. Never gut hooked a bass yet with them. I'd shy away from the circle hooks, as mentioned above.
  15. Yeah, I agree. Thanks.
  16. First off, Thank You all for the prayers. My wife, Dee is being transferred to a radiation facility, and will begin radiation tomorrow. After having breast cancer 13 years ago, she has to endure this again..sigh. Thanks again, bless you all.
  17. My wife of over 50 years was taken to the ER last night. An MRI confirmed she has tumors on her spine and that they are growing fast. She is in a special cancer treatment center 20 miles away, now fighting for her life. I feel so lost, and at the same so fearful. So if you folks could see your way to sending a prayer or 2, I'd really appreciate it. Thank You.
  18. I listen to 50's music now and then. Some great tunes were made back then.
  19. Been doing it for many years.
  20. One of my all time favorite people, such a shame that Dee has passed. RIP Dee.
  21. I agree with this, but there are weedless swimbaits, like the Mattlures bluegill, that can get through grass ect, most of the time. There's a time and place for either lure, the bass will let ya know pretty quick which one they want.
  22. If funds allow, grab the 200. I have the 150 and the 200, and imho the 200 is a great all around size.
  23. As time goes on, you will find what works best for you and the waters that you fish.
  24. I had one from 2003 IIRC. Fished it both in the salt and fresh for years. Great rod for the $$.
  25. Well glory be, got some diesel tonight and guess what, price dropped a whopping 20 cents per gal. Not complaining, but I'd really like to see it come down a tad more.
