  1. Keeping you guys in our thoughts and sending some mighty hefty Prayers your way. My wife Dee, is declining, can hardly stand without help. Lucky for us, we have what I consider the Best Son on earth, at 6'7" and 300 lbs, he lifts her up with ease, which make life much easier on all of us. The Best to both of you Andy.
  2. As long as the lures are within, or very close to the weight rating.
  3. Really depends on the weight of the lures you want to throw. Like most rods, the ratings are a tad over rated, I found that the sweet spot for the Jr. is just under 3 oz. if you want to bomb a cast, although you can Lob a 3+ oz bait fairly well.
  4. Time for some good ole rock & roll.
  5. The 7'8" Jr. Swimbait rod may be the one that would work. Rated 1 to 4 oz. Or you could go to the 7'9" Large Swimbait heavy which is rated 3 to 6 oz. I have both of these rods, and others.
  6. I can tell you that my Irod's have been great, the Gneiss III's priced at 149.99 at TW are a steal imho, they look and fish well above their price point.
  7. So, your sheathing a roof or walls, you have 4 or 5, size 8 nails lined up between your fingers on your non hammering hand. Your under pressure from the boss, or client to get that job done ASAP, and in your quest to get'r done, you wind up hitting one or 2 nails in your hand and nail 2 of your fingers together, or maybe you just drive 1 nail through a single finger ? Well, I'll admit in my early days while sheathing a roof which was a 6/12, I nailed 2 of my fingers together, surprisingly there was no pain, except for when I had to pull the dang nails out. That was the only time I've ever done that..lol
  8. Interesting. I wonder if bass can spot a prey that has an injury, i.e. like a chunk of flesh taken out by one of the toothy critters, or something like that. ? Maybe I'll color one of my 6" hudds tail with red nail polish.
  9. 5 years later..........
  10. Never thought about being " safe " I fish when I can, unless it's pouring rain. And yes, been skunked many times, but still had Fun.
  11. Up until this drought thing, we had a decent looking lawn, not very big, but looked o.k. Now, it's mostly a dirt field, with small patches of grass and weeds. Our gardeners can only do so much. Also, my rose bushes are suffering. We get to water 2 times a week, and we have to stay under the allotted gallons. In the mean while, the rich folks are using up to 150% more water than they should.
  12. Same goes for me, No leaders.
  13. I'll just say this, I've caught some really nice fish, both salt and fresh water on spinning gear. I'd never give it up.
  14. It is strange. Most guys I know, go there for Stripers. I went there in the early 90's and it o.k., but nothing special.
  15. Catch a 12 + lb bass Break par at my favorite golf course.
  16. I fish my glides a number of ways, some like GreenPig mentioned. A few years ago, actually more like 9 yrs. ago, I was fishing some really stained water, almost chocolate, about 25' from shore, I got antsy and did about 3 turns of my reel very fast, read ( burn) I then let my bait sit for about 5 to 7 seconds, then gave it a twitch, to my surprise a nice chunky 5 lb bass Smacked it. Anyway, try numerous retrieves to which works for your waters. Oh, and you can also sorta slow roll your glide sub surface too.
  17. Yeah, well, all that drinking is gonna Bite him in the you know what someday.
  18. CONGRATZ Mike.. Sure is a Cutie..
  19. Same rod I use for worms, ect. And I'll second the great customer service, matt is the man. Also, at 149.99, the Irods look and fish at a much higher price point. I have 4 Irods, including their heavy swimbait rig, and am very happy with all of them.
  20. Cal's has been working just fine for Many years.
  21. No swivel, I tie 1 Palomar knot at the hook, and that's it. Been working fine for a number of years.
  22. Also, Tom grew up around boat docks, boats, and fishing in general. Tom has a Vast knowledge of all of it. I suggest if Tom makes a comment on these subjects, have a good hard listen.
  23. Almost looks as though Tank may have knocked Lynn over..? Very cool pic though.
  24. My rule of thumb is, look out for # 1, cuz no one else will, 99% of the time.
  25. 2 boys and 1 gal. Gabby is my oldest granddaughter, and smart as a whip, she is in the process of getting her Masters degree. Very motivated and works for her $$ while going to school. The eldest grandson is 20, and nothing like his sister, he works for UPS, only cuz his Dad is upper management there. The youngest in 14, hopefully my Son's work ethic and dedication to family rubs off on the young un. And yep, I'm pretty dang proud of them.
