  1. Years ago I used a Shimano 301 E7 Curado, one of the best reels I had. Fast forward to today, I bought the Diawa Tatula 300, got a good recommend from one of the mods here, as he also had the older E 7 Curado, and found the Tatula 300 to be every bit as good, to which I agree.
  2. Use to play a bunch, blues, rock, and some country. With my carpal tunnel deal, can't play no mo. Here's a sampling of my gear. Not pictured is my Fender Baja tele in blond ash. Started playing in 1973.
  3. You and Lynn are awesome for doing this kind of work, can be frustrating at times, but you seem to have it all, under control.. Good on ya's.
  4. A very Merry Christmas to all members past and present.
  5. Such a cool looking pup. It's great that folks like you and Lynn do this for the sheltered dogs.
  6. Being that your Limited to shore, I would suggest a couple of things. 1 Select baits that are streamlined, and that aren't designed for vertical fishing. One such bait to consider would be a Dark Sleeper, or and weighted small bluegill type swimbait. 2 consider the line that you use, either a small diameter mono or fluro in the 10 lb test range. Or if the water in your lake isn't gin clear, consider using braid in the 30 to 40 lb test range, it will cast further than mono or fluro to help your you bait out as far as possible. Lastly when using the above mention baits, slowly drag them along the bottom to imitate a feeding fish. Keep one of your fingers on the line as you work the bait so you can detect any bites.
  7. Happy Thanks Giving to all !!!!
  8. Nice.. Happy B Day !!!!
  9. That's true. I must say Dee, is one Tough gal..
  10. Mine use to be a big thick New York steak, with a big ole baked potato and a salad with French dressing, I say use to be, having a full upper denture makes it impossible to eat most meat for me.
  11. Just a small update on my wife's condition. She has been pretty dang sick the last 4 days with a bacterial infection, so much so that she couldn't even talk to me on the phone. This afternoon, I got what I would call some good news, in that the meds have begun to work, and she is feeling Much better. She is hoping to be able to begin to stand, and walk with her walker soon. My Son is coming up on Weds, to install her new TV, so we will celebrate Thanksgiving then in a small way. I feel so relieved that she will be better, to continue the fight against that %$#& cancer. Once again Thank all of you for the Prayers and well wishes, it does help.
  12. Well, Dee contacted Covid, and is not feeling very good. Seems one of the workers gave it to her. Her immune system is very low as it is, and having covid is not good. Needless to say, I'm not happy, and just hope she pulls through this.
  13. I've had very good luck over the last 30 yrs. with BF Goodrich all terrain TKO tires. What you might want to do is add some sealer to help seal any punctures you might get.
  14. Another sunset, on the west coast.
  15. Yep, she just took off.
  16. On Oct 8th, as I was traveling in the far right lane at 35 mph, some Blind moron decides to pull right out in front of me, not 18' from me. Dealing with the wife situation now I have this, my beloved 2003 Duramax is Totaled thanks to her. So I swerved to miss her, but ended up totaling a Honda Civic, when asked if the 3 girls in the car were o.k. they all said we are fine, now they hired a lawyer and are suing for medical compensation, or plainly put, looking for a payday, as the EMT's and the fire dept checked them out and said they were fine. Oct has not been good. More pic's.
  17. Don't have the Tatula, but I do have 3 of the Tatula XT rods. I think for the $$ these are pretty dang good rods, I have no complaints about them.
  18. Done deal....
  19. In addition to what Tom suggested, lure wise try a 2.8 kietech on a flashy swimmer, could even go to a 3.8 on a coolbaits jig head.
  20. Matt from Taticalbassin just did a great vid on swimbaits, for beginners to advanced folks. Might be worth it to check it out if you haven't already.
  21. Best friend bought a 65 GTO, $ 3200.00 out the door, and that's with options.
  22. And Ladder traction bars..
  23. Tough to go wrong with 6 and 8" Huddlestons. Long time ago, I bought only 3:16 custom swimbaits for Major $$$, they looked great, swam real nice, but didn't catch any more fish than my Hudds at a fraction of the price.
  24. Same for me. I have a closet full of pillows that never worked for me..
