  1. Thanks for all the advice been doing some extensive testing I recently changed line , was using a spectra braid and spooled up some cheep braid that was given me to test . athough it is strong just a small nick in the line is enough to get it to break but only on a hard yank like a hook set must have been getting hammered in the structure where my previous braid held out better. the bait ive been using ( owner rib eye swimbait) is also fairly heavy and I am punching it through heavy cover. next time i am out I will get some pics of the bass teeth which are bigger than what ive seen before and post it on this forum Thanks again I feel like a fool but I have learned a great deal from your coments
  2. thanks for the replies guys , we have the regular old Florida and northern strain bass out here , maybe its just my over aggressive strike or the fact that I am bouncing the lure of rocks and trees and its weekining the line some how but is good quality line. I have been using seguar as a leader. Just never encountered this problem before and the bass have unusually large teeth at the moment . needed a plaster the ruff thumb was so bad.
  3. very sure no tigers in the dam
  4. I have noticed that bass that predominantly feed on bait fish tend to have much bigger teeth when the bait fish are abundant after spawn . has anyone had any bass bite line off. on two recent trips I have been bitten off on 5 occasions and my line is great I have tested knot strength, this has just never happend before now. most breakoffs have been on hook set or the strike and only on fish over 6lb , am I striking too hard but even 25lb line has been biten off or can a bass cut line at a certain time of the year.
