  1. Hey guys, I'm looking to catch some carp this year, don't wanna do much more than just cast out and let the bait sit there. I'll be fishing in a really weedy, clear lake in the Kawartha's, Ontario. There is a very healthy population of carp. I'm wondering what kind of baits to use, I've tried corn on a hook with no luck, what are your suggestions? Anything is appreciated, thanks!
  2. Take a look at this link, this boat looks very similiar to what you describe and is going for 11.9k- http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-boats-watercraft-powerboats-motorboats-1995-Astro-18DCX-gorgeous-bass-boat-w-Evinrude-150-W0QQAdIdZ254589623
  3. Hey I'm wondering if anyone knows if you can actually buy a pre-made fishing platform to mount on the bow of your boat. Thanks! ;D
  4. What are your opinions on finding bass in the Fall, how deep, water clarity, structure, where are they positioned in the lake? Is it like fishing in the summer when you can fish the shoreline around the hole lake and catch a bass, or are they concentrated on certain places on the lake? Anything is appreciated.
  5. I always peg t-rigged baits, I don't like it when the weight falls 2 or 3 inches ahead of the bait I'm sure the fish see's that every day so throw something at him that doesn't have that sinker diving away from the rig and it looks that much better. Here's what I use http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_44440_100010004_100000000_100010000?cmCat=CROSSSELL_THUMBNAIL
  6. Not a bad day, windy, cold and it rained off and on, but we landed 5 and lost 2, biggest was 3#. We caught all the fish either in the pads or just off the edge of them in less than 3 feet of water, caught them 2 on a black/blue jig, 2 on white spinner baits fished on the edge of the lily pads, and one on a Gambler Cane Toad.. which is one of my favorites. Thanks for the help!
  7. Hey looking for any tips on fishing early fall largemouth bass. Going out tomorrow was thinking spinner baits in shallow water for the morning then switch to a black/red jig with a black/ red flake chigger craw for a trailer. What are your thoughts?
  8. Hey guys just looking for the basics of tactics you use during the fall. From what I read shallow flats and back bays with fast moving lures. What are you thoughts?
  9. that smallie looks like it weighs a lot more than 6# 14oz. i was gonna say 9 pushin 10
  10. There's always something new to learn here! I've learnt so much from reading the articles, and this year was one of my best thanks to this site!
  11. My favorite crank has to be a black/chrome Big-O
  12. Love them! I use them Texas rigged in the thick stuff or when I'm combing a flat. Also use it as a trailer when I'm jigging. Anyone else use them? Got any favorite colors?
  13. LOLx2 Go back to the basics of bass fishing
  14. Looking for some late summer largemouth tactics. Where do you look for them? Baits? Lures? Anything is appreciated!
  15. When I'm done school I'm moving down south where there's no season, because up here in the winter of Ontario (off season!!) I stare at my tackle box and constantly tie on new lures according to what I read online, and drool over the thought of being back on the water come June.
  16. It's possible it was a pike, but it's also possible your line just had a knick in it.
  17. Southern Ontario Been catching fewer and smaller bass 2010 seems slow for me compared to past years
  18. I know I shouldn't get worked up about it but I do. It haunts me the rest of the day, mostly because it makes me think I should of done something differently to prevent that, you know like how could I have brought that bass in differently or was it my line, should I of retied? Whatever it is I just think about how I could of done something differently, and if I got the bass, that would just be one more fish to tell my girl about when I get back. ;D
  19. Hey guys, was wondering if you think it's critical to downsize baits during the dog days? More or less I'm talking about soft plastics and jigs.
  20. Yeah that's what I found to when I was out, they're still somewhat shallow. Thanks for the advice! Glad to hear it that the fish are shallow, because I don't have confidence when I'm fishing structure that I can't see.
  21. Hey looking for some tips on fishing deeper ( 10-14 feet ) for largemouth. I fished both days this weekend, probing deeper waters with jigs, tubes, and crankbaits, with no luck. I'm fishing the edge of a weed flat, that drops from about 6 to 12 feet. I figured with the heat we've been having that the fish would be deeper, but my dad and I after having no luck fishing deeper, went shallow to the mats and lilly pads and caught some nice keepers on topwater frogs and swimbaits fished on and near the surface. The picture is my dad with a solid 5.5lber, caught on a white frog. What's your advice?
  22. He's probably using it because the frog is to light to cast effectively with a baitcaster. He's also probably using braided line and a heavier rod/reel setup. ..I would think
  23. I was walleye fishing with my dad last year, and we had a stringer of 5 walleye hangin off the side of the boat. My dad took the stringer and threw it into the water thinkin it was the anchor we did catch another stringer full though
