  1. I was going to head over there today myself. Which end of the lake were you on? Boat rental area or the deep end to the right of there? I've never caught a smallie out of Centennial before. There are large fish in there. I got my largest last year, 7lb. 4oz., right in the little cove right by the boat rental area. The topwater bite is great right before dark this time of year. Good luck!
  2. I live in columbia also. I guess one question to ask is do you have a boat or not? Centennial Lake is about 50 acres in the middle of a great park off of Rt. 108. Good fishing from the bank and they have a boat ramp. Boats 16 ft. or less and electric only allowed. There are some great fish in there. Triadelphia Reservior would be the closest reservoir of the three major Baltimore area reserviors. The are all electric only. Rocky Gorge in just south down 29 or 95. Liberty is north about 30 minutes. Loch Raven is probably you best bet if you don't have a boat and want to fish a larger body of water. They rent jon boats daily for $25-$50 and is known as the best largemouth lake in the area. It's in northern baltimore. Check out google maps and look around the area for a good idea of where everything is. Hope this helps you get started. Tony
  3. You may want to try Loch Raven just north of Baltimore. They rent jon boats for about $30 for the day. It really is a great fishery. I would recommend a porable depth finder and a good topo map to really help you out. It's a 2400 acre reservoir with all types of species in there. I live very close to wilde lake and haven't had much luck there...limited access fishing from the bank. I just actually found out that you can fish Lake Kittamaqundi. I've heard there are some good fish in there, and it's like 1 1/2 miles from my home.
  4. Kar, they will hit just about anything you throw at 'em there. Once the pads are up yum buzzfrogs work great along with buzzbaits. I was killing them saturday with a watermelon red flake yum houdini shakey head. I fished for about 1 hour on the opposite end that you were at and pulled in five. All small, no larger than 2 1/2lbs. It sure was killing the tourney boaters who were around me getting skunked 8-)
  5. I live in columbia and fish there all the time from land. There are some big fish in there if you can get on them. I landed a 7lb. 1oz. largemouth last year in the small cove by the dock/boat rental area. There was a tournament at Centennial last weekend. I wish I knew about it. I don't have a boat but I know my friend who does would have been down to enter with me.
  6. Yep, shakey head is how I rig them. I threw everything this weekend, first cast with the watermelon red flake and bam 3lber. Same thing later in the day after throwing a variety of lures with nothing...back to the houdini worm, first cast again. I now have a lot of confidence in them.
  7. St. Mary's River Watershed Park has a nice lake just north of Great Mills on Rt. 5. I have a friend who lives right by Pt. Lookout and fishes the lake all the time. Look on google maps for a better idea where it is. Hope this helps a little. Tony
  8. Loch Raven Fishing Center opens this weekend and the weather looks awesome! I've heard the spinnerbait bite has been on this week so i hoping for some of the same this weekend. I could really use a good 4-5 lber...nothin but dinks and pickerel so far for me in the past couple of weeks. I just finally found a decent topo map of that reservoir so it should help a lot. Does anyone have any advice of where is best on the loch this time of year? Tight lines! Tony
