    this is smallmouth, but i know a guy who was downrigging for lakers in 100 fow and hooked a 5lb smallie, this is in northern ontario tho

    i used to fish with the "cheap" rapala glasses, but then i bought a pair of blue waters, man what a difference i could see twice the amount of stuff that i could see with my rapalas. there is an greeny coloured lense in them that really helps you see the weeds. i got them for around 100 bucks canadian.

    If your losing fish on crankbaits get new hooks. Get some gami's or another type of treble. If the hook is sharp you'll get the fish on a crankbait

    Was fishing the local lake for a tourny and the bass were nailing the fry. You'd see the fry start to "boil" on the surface and then a bass would explode out of the water. We flipped into those spots and got fish every time

    Was out today for our (southern Ont.) opener tourney, and we were flipping for largies in the cane. I flipped into a pocket and wham, i bring it up to the surface and its a huge snapping turtle. THe turtle actually had the hook in its mouth.

    I seem to get my big smallies on jerkbaits, tubes ,spinnerbaits(mainly white) and grubs. I fished senkos a couple of times last year with some luck too
