  1. A bit of misinformation here, a deep V john will not be as stable at rest as a square nose or a semi v. It will let you fish rougher water without getting wet. For 2k you can find a few good deals, but there will be many pieces of garbage with gold paint on them. Be careful, and test drive everything. Don't take anything without a title to motor and hull, and have everything checked by a qualified person before any money changes hands. If it looks like crap walk away, because it is.
  2. That boat wasn't garage kept until the owner decided to sell it. There is no telling how the speedo cover cracked but that indicates neglect or rough treatment all by itself.
  3. Try to find a spot where the rocks transition to mud, the catfish will work these areas for food, and you should put yours there for them to find. Chicken liver is great for eating sized channel cats or bullheads. Use a sharp knife to cut it into 1" strips. A #2 bait holder hook is fine for eating sized catfish. If you are targeting larger fish then you can use larger hooks and larger baits, preferably cut pieces of whatever it is legal to use in the body of water you are fishing. In some places bullheads are legal bait, and you may try those if you catch them.
  4. I had one on a 16' aluminum lowe. I thought about listing it as outboard #2
  5. As long as your boat is not to big for it buy that motor. I had the exact model and loved it. Follow advice about variable speed control, do not go for 5 speed for any reason.
  6. This is a center console, batteries under console. Not much room at all after 3x battery.
  7. Looks like when the time comes ill go with the threexportable option, I also have a cranking battery in the boat at a diff location, plus there is not a lot of space under the console for an on board. Thanks for the help.
  8. What are my options for charging a 36 volt system overnight? The only one I know about right now is on board chargers, I was wandering what my other options would be? I know many of you before have spoke of smart chargers and the on board chargers I have looked at do not seem to fit this bill. So, what is the best option here? What is the most economical?
  9. The manufactures website suggests that you can switch back and forth at will. If you can find someone that will just sell you the unit it will not be as expensive for you to install it yourself, should not be much to it really.
  10. Are you sure its the pitch and not something wrong with the hub?
  11. What is the max horsepower rating for your boat? Is it possible that it is absorbing water anywhere? Is the motor already bolted in the top hole?
  12. What about through a log jam that rubs your boat, or over a shoal that is so shallow you have to get out and push?
  13. Yeah, I catch them on cut bait pieces about the size of your hand. It was just two fish, but yes I was tired after the last one. One on the boat ramp is the smaller of the two by a couple inches or so, but it put up much more fight than the other one, I thought I would never land that fish.
  14. If it was a g3 or an express it would, but it is an alumnacraft.
  15. its rated up to 130, has a 115 this is on a 20 foot aluminum center console.
