  1. On sunny days and clear evenings, a wacky-rigged Baby Bass colored Senko works well in my local stained and rocky waters... Haven't had much Senko love on cruddy weather days, though...
  2. They've gotta be running a little thin on material, I would imagine, but I still like the show. Nevertheless, I would think that between "Champ," the gar, and some muskies or pike, he could put together a halfway-decent Vermonster episode...
  3. Maybe it's just me, but shakeyheads work well for me from shore (as well as the previously-mentioned shallow/floating cranks, and a host of other lures... I think you'll find that way more lures work - or can work - from shore than don't.) Anyway, shakeyheads are pretty weedless and very easily adjustable from color to color or worm to beaver, the downside being the jighead getting hung up in rocky bottoms now and then...
  4. Oh man, when I was a kid, my silver Shad Rap was IT! Everywhere I went, I'd toss that one on and catch -- local CT lakes, and when visiting family in VA and Ohio too... My friends would be begging me for a shot with it! These days, I fish less, but have been having a lot of luck on shakey-head jigs and lipless cranks... Lures I caught nothing with as a kid... Those are definitely my go-to lures these days, with wacky senkos, DS, and a couple of cranks rounding out the "usual suspects"...
  5. I've had good luck with Jackall Crosstail Shads and RI Flirt worms. The crosstails are super soft, so they probably have decent action underwater, and while I'm not convinced that they make a huge difference, the belly ribs on the flirt worms are a bit of a different look. The flirts also do well on a shakey-head, and as a bonus, the color names are hilarious... -G
