  1. What brand chatterbaits do you guys suggest?
  2. Hello everyone! Been a long time since I've participated, and its nice to be back and reading this forum again. I might be going a little off topic here since I want to talk about the Chronarch. So, If I want to buy a new Shimano reel, either Curado or Chronarch in 201 size (left hand), which one should I get? I specifically want the 6.x:1 gear ratio for spinner baits and chatterbaits. My main spinner bait reel for the last 4 years was the Curado 101D...its time to upgrade and add more line to the reel. Shimano does not make the Curado 201E5 so thats out. That leaves me with Curado 201G6 or the Chronarch 201E6 to pick from. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  3. Thanks for all your help guys! All PMs replied. Can't wait to fish Gaston this Friday for the first time!
  4. Thanks for your big help Sam! ;D I really look forward going to Lake Gaston next weekend. Any more help for fishing Gaston would be nice. Thanks in advance.
  5. Hello! I'm going to Oneida Lake the third weekend of July for deaf fishing club tourney. I have never been to Oneida Lake before. Any help, tips, websites, or reports would be a big help. I just bought a map of Oneida Lake to start off with. Thanks in advance!
  6. Hello! I'm going to Lake Gaston the first weekend of June for deaf fishing club tourney. I have never been to Gaston before. Any help, tips, websites, or reports would be a big help. I just bought a Lake Gaston map to start off with. Thanks in advance!
  7. Green Pumpkin with black or red flake. It's like the #1 all-around natural color. I remember there was a "color poll" in the Bassmaster Magazine and green pumpkin won big time.
  8. Wow! The Tackle Tamers from Cabela's that Wayne P. suggested is a great idea. I'll have to get one for myself.
  9. CI4! Can't wait to get mine around mid February!
  10. I use 6lb and 8lb line on all 4 of my 2500 spinning reels. It's a perfect size.
  11. I'm another Netbait Mad Paca craw user. I formerly used the Zoom Brush Hogs for 3 years but switched over to the Netbaits last summer mainly because of the bigger paddle arms/craws which means more action. Also the factory ready garlicy scents in the Netbaits is another plus compared to the Zoom rubbery/plastic smell. I even have about 15-25 packs of the Zoom Baby Brush hogs that I've just put away and don't want to use.
  12. I also have the AVC70MM. I bought it last summer with roadwarrior's helpful advice. It's the only crankbait rod I own and it's awesome! I have used it a lot last year for deep cranking as well as wake baits and shallow cranking. It does cast LONG with crankbaits but probably LONGER with rattle trap type baits! You won't be disappointed with this rod.
  13. I downloaded this free software from the Lowrance website "Downloads" section. I opened the program and want to create way points and plan future trips to my LMS-522 iGPS. The closest zoom-in screen is showing the state lines. It will not even show major highways, lakes or rivers, why is that??? Am I missing something here or do I need another software to run with this or what? I just basically want a software on my computer that can add/modify way points, trips and plan future trips on the computer and transfer it to my LMS-522 iGPS with my memory card. Thanks for your help.

  15. I just spooled my reel using 50# Power-Pro braid. I will be experimenting with my leftover Berkley 100% Fluro 8# and 14# lines for the leader. All my weights are Tru Tungsten so I might as well stay with them. I can see that the Peter T Finesse Carolina sinker is hard to find online. Any suggestions where to get them? Thanks for your help guys!
  16. Go for Bobby at MegaStrike. I just got a package from him a few weeks ago and took advantage of the free shipping for over $50 purchase. Get yourself some of their other products such as the new shaky heads or cavitron buzz baits!
  17. I have tried carolina rigging once with a guide last spring and caught a nice 3 pounder. The guide was nice enough to let me keep his ticker, glass bead and brass weight. This year, I plan to learn more and do a lot of carolina rigging and I want to buy the right set up related to the ticker, beads and weights. I do not want to use the ready made or pre-rigged ones. What set up do you guys suggest since there are many different kinds? Is a ticker necessary? Beads alone can protect the knot without the ticker? Or the ticker provides more noise? Glass or plastic beads? Bead color in red or black? What about Tru-Tungsten Force Beads? Some setups include 2 or 3 beads??? Brass or tungsten weights? Thanks for your help!
  18. I also have the St. Croix Avid AC66MF and use it for top water, jerk baits, and light spinner baits. It's a great rod!!!
  19. Thanks for clearing it up since the tackle name and color go by the same name.
  20. I plan to purchase some Sworming Hornets soon. Any suggestions related to the plastic shad color attached to the SH? I'm speaking of staying in "shad" color category such as albino, white, and pearl colors OR the darker colors such as green pumpkin and watermelon colors? Thanks!
  21. Any recommendations for baitcasting reel gear ratios while using lipless crankbaits? Thanks!
  22. Spinning: Izorline XXX Super Co-poly #6 Casting: Izorline Platinum #12 I'm trying to find out the specific diameters and lb test for those 2 lines. I'm also very curious to try the Yo-Zuri lines that roadwarrior keeps recommending.
  23. Yes, Aquia Creek! I first discovered the creek last year and fished that creek twice for fun in August when the weeds were fully grown. Boy, they were biting the senkos like crazy. I don't know how the creek is in the spring or fall? My club tends to launch at Pohick Bay or Marshall ramp. That forces me to fish up from Spoils Cove/Ft. Washington area down to Mattawoman Creek due to the size of my boat's gas tank. I've ran out of gas twice and learned how far my boat can go now. We rarely launch at Smallwood or Leesylvania but luckily this year we plan to launch once at both locations. That will start a new challenge for me to explore the new waters from Smallwood and down to Aquia Creek. What do you have to say about Aquia Creek? ;D
  24. Thank you thank you everyone for the friendly welcome.
