  1. I just went through 3 motor guide varimax tm's, then I got tired of the bull and got a minn kota, and I love it.
  2. Trition has some nice ones in that price range, maybe 1 or 2 thousand more. Lowe has some also.
  3. Shimano compare, that way its a good choice for use and its a shimano on a shimano.
  4. The biggest difference is the knobs on the handle are smaller. It feels so weird to go from one to another. Other than the knob issue I cant tell any major differences. The curado is some what smother, but it is minor. I will be buying another citica rather than one more curado. There not that bad. To me. I have 5 new curados, so I might know something about it.
  5. I bet it will be just like when we had to go from leaded to unleaded gas. We will have to adjust to the inevitable.
  6. Everything should be on 90 degree angles. You could read the manual that came with the unit.
  7. I put mine 10 inches from the side of the boat. I have a 14 foot lowe also, this works fine for me. I did this to get it away from the motor some.
  8. Yea, please let us know. Thanks, for the info.
  9. I got the 40. It shows a ww2 on the box, but has the ww1 on it. Now I have to get a new blade. Does anyone know if the ww2 is way better than the ww1.? I may wait until I need one to upgrade, unless its worth it to buy it now. The main lake I like to fish is 3/4 weeds.
  10. This month I just went through 3 motor guide varimax 45's. Each one was broke out of the box, what a piece of crap. So I got a minn kota and love it.
  11. I have one of each. I made the same mistake and bought 2- e7. I caught the mistake when I got home, and took one of them back. I like having the option to be able to slow role a spinner bait if I want to. Anyways take one back if you can.
  12. I'd love to know if it works. The lake I love to fish is 3/4 solid weeds. The weeds are so bad that they bog down my trolling and main motor.
  13. I agree with all here. One that you can get to water, one that you can fix, to stop it from leaking, and one that you got for free or paid cash for.
  14. If that was the best I could do, I wouldn't even bother. Thats a joke. Hell why not cut some 55 gallon drums in half and screw them together round side down, long ways, and call that a boat.
  15. I wouldn't have it. For the money you can get a great used or new aluminum boat, maybe with a trailer.
  16. I personaly don't think you will gain much more than you would with screws or nuts and bolts. You have to have some way of pulling the wood up to the boat with liqiud nail behind it.
  17. They sell them new for around 5.00, that are around 4 inches long. The hard thing about what you want to do is getting the plastic insert out of the tube
  18. They can do a load test or you can see what your voltage is when the trolling motor quits working. you know your charger may not be working right either.
  19. I have a new Motorguide Varimax, and the tube is to long for my liking. I was wondering has anyone here cut one to size? Is there any more to it than taking tubing cutters to cut the tube, and maybe re-terminating the wires if they wont go back in the main housing. Thanks for the help.
  20. Walmart has nice ones that are electronic for 45.00. It works great, and its small.
