  1. I see your from IL. If you want to go to the north woods and rent out a cabin, I used to fish St Germaine, Green Lake and the Chippewa Flowage. Excellent bodies of water. However I finally learned how to properly bass fish about 6 years ago, and I now only travel to S.E Wisconsin. Fishing right over the border is phenomenal. There are many lakes that have multi-species, and are filled with fish.
  2. Fished Tichigan Lake with a buddy of mine on 5-3-2014 opening day in WI. Fished from 8:30 AM till 1:30 PM. Very windy 15-25 mile winds, water temp 48 degrees. Not a bad day for the both of us. I got 10 bass and 1 walleye. (2) 13", (2) 14-1/2", (4) 15 to15-1/2", (2) 16-1/2" and one 16 " walleye. The 5 fish in the morning all caught on swim jigs, remainder fish and walleye caught on jig/pig. My buddy got 8 bass and 2 northern pike. Bass were from 15-1/2 " to 17-1/2". Northern pike were under 24" His fish were caught on a chatterbait, spinnerbait and a shallow crankbait.
  3. I use Mend-It as well. Great stuff. Like Tim Kelly said above you can stick together all kind of appendages and make any creation you want.
  4. If you heat it up red hot, you might be able to open it up, however when it cools, you will have hardened it and it may crack upon trying to close it.
  5. I live really close to the "Chain" in northern IL, and I don't fish it because of the boat traffic in the summertime. However Geneva and Delavan aren't much better in the summertime either. There are many lakes in S.E. WI, that are less crowded and are phenomenal fisheries. Don't get me wrong Geneva and Delavan are phenomenal but trying to fish at 10:00 a.m. on a Saturday is challenging. You can fish Little Muskego, Browns, Pewaukee, Madison Chain, Como and many more. Also Long Lake in IL has some huge largemouths as well.
  6. That's what I needed to know. Pm me what you are looking for as far as tutorials, and I will be more than happy to start you out on the right foot to safe pouring. PM sent again.
  7. If you are looking for piano hinges for rod locker doors, then get mill finish 304 stainless steel, you will only see the knuckle anyway. You can drill the holes to where you want. If you are looking for chrome hinges than yes they are very expensive. I would buy stainless steel hands down. If you are looking for hardware, then get stainless steel as well. If you have hinge leaf sizes I can help you find a reasonable place. Yes $28 for a hinge is very expensive, however depends how big and how long.
  8. I sent you a Pm. I have some tutorials for you if you are interested. PS I looked up your profile, and if you really are 13 years old, I think you should definitely get some parental supervision. I don't want to send you all kind of tutorials, and then you get hurt. Pouring jigs is not complicated, but it is very dangerous, and not to be taken lightly. I am willing to help you out but doing it like this worries me.
  9. If you are looking for 60 degree flat eye Mustad, the cost for a box of 1000 is approx.. $104.00 for a 4/0 hook. You will also have to have your tax number + you will have to pay shipping. If that price is too high than consider the Mustad counterpart Eagle Claw. Excellent hooks as well. If the Eagle Claws are too high in cost, than your on your own to find better hook pricing, because we've all been down this road and these are the only places where you will find bulk hooks at a really good price.
  10. Get Your hooks from Shorty's or Captain Hooks, both of them are the same company. They are in MO. As far as powder paint goes I try not to use Pro-Tec as it is very expensive. I have never used Eastwoods powder paint but I can't see why it wouldn't work. You have a PM.
  11. I would like to see this also, and when I click it, it says "private" as well.
  12. That is a nice saugeye. Job well done.
  13. PM sent.
  14. Like smalljaw mentioned, that is not an opaque brown it is a candy brown with green glitter (copperhead). If you want it lighter don't heat the jig as hot and swish it through the powder paint faster. By doing this you will get less powder to stick to the hot jig making it lighter. You will also get less green glitter. This will take some practice, but it can be done very easily.
  15. Sorry I was supposed to post yesterday after I got back. Anyway, water temp was 43 degrees when we got there at 10:30 A.M. at 12:00 noon it was 46 degrees. 1/3 of the lake was covered with ice, had to watch to make sure we didn't get blocked in, as the ice was moving on the lake with the wind. Very weird feeling fishing like this. Anyway we were out for 4 hours. Nothing at all not one fish. Did spook a couple of carp in the shallows and saw a couple of them roll on the water surface. That's it.
  16. Going out to Long Lake today with my buddy at 11:00. Will let you know how we do when I get back.
  17. If any of you guys have one of these and would be willing to give me a few dimensions, I would gladly post drawings on how to make this or have someone make this for you. Two options to make this would be either be steel with black powder paint or stainless steel brushed finish. I am a sheetmetal designer, so posting fab drawings is no bigee. *********Mods would you have a problem with me posting fabrication drawing for someone to make these themselves? If so I won't post drawings on here.******
  18. Thanks for the info.
  19. Do you live in the suburbs? Do you have transportation? Do you have a boat? I have a lot of suggestions. Pm me I can give you several clubs.
  20. What is this for?
  21. The name cadman started out two ways. For a long time I have designed sheetmetal parts. Then cad came around instead of drawing on the board. So I started with AutoCad, then switched jobs and used CadKey, which at that time I also used a cad package called Profold. After that, I used a package called Metalsoft and now Solidworks. So I have used a lot of cad packages throughout the years. Part 2 came from as I used cad for my daily job, I got into designing some molds using cad for pouring lead jigs. These were then created into bass jigs which to this day I make and sell as cad designed custom jigs, which I had to shorten because of too many words. Hence the name cadman, from work and fishing.
  22. Yes, you cannot mix lead and zinc weights. Read this thread post #3 http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/132763-cleaning-out-my-melting-pot/
