  1. Going out to Delavan this Sunday. Nice fish slonezp. The pic of you holding the fish is that by the hump???? Looks like the first point on the west shore. Were you guys fishing docks with the wacky worm? I'll let you guys know how we do and hopefully take some pics.
  2. You can also try Anglers Unlimited. They are more of a bass club that does draw tournaments. They are out of Round Lake Beach,IL. They fish mostly S.E. WI waters. PM me and I can give you a contact number. They are always looking for non- boaters.
  3. I bought lights for my boat as well. Haven't had a chance to put them on yet. I just had my decals made and put them on the carpet of my boat and also on my truck. The carpet decals came out beautiful. I also had a license plate frame made for my truck. I will have to bend your ear when I put my lights on. I am putting clear lights on in my storage lockers and blue ones on my deck. I would like to put the red and green ones on in the rub rail like you did, but am terrified of screwing it up. I see you have a nice lip on your bow to tuck your lights under. BTW Job well done.
  4. Looks Good.
  5. Very Nice
  6. It all depends. If you make 20 jigs it is not worth it. If you make a 100 then yes as you will save by buying in bulk. 2-1/2 skirt tabs will cost you about 70 cents for each jig depending on what tabs you get. A painted jig will cost you approx. $1.00 depends on what jig you buy. So at about $1.70 each not including your labor, it is still a good price. Also remember, you are going to make them the way you want and if you hand tie the skirts, they will be better than any store bought jig. JMO.
  7. There is a dumb blond joke in here somewhere: My buddy was waiting to try to load up his boat after fishing Geneva yesterday. So this guy and this woman are launching their boat. Lady gets in the boat, guy backs up and boat floats off of trailer no problem right? Not so fast. Lady drops the anchor in the water to keep the boat from drifting away any further, while blocking the launch. Sits down and is waiting for husband. While everyone is waiting for her to start the boat to get out of the way, she sits there patiently. Husband comes to the dock and realises his wife doesn't know how to start the boat, and is giving her instructions. Lady can't find keys. In the mean time my buddy tells the lady to throw a rope to her husband so they can pull the boat to the dock and tie it up. No rope. Husband takes off his long pants and jumps in water, swims to boat. Gets in boat can't find keys. After watching this patiently enough my buddy takes his rope, motors over and pulls this guys boat back to the dock. My buddy said all of this took an hour. The guy doesn't even thank him. He just can't believe it. As funny as this sounds, I've seen a lot of things at the boat ramp that just makes you wonder, especially on Lake Geneva, when you get some of these guys with the big boats. Just thought a Monday morning chuckle would be good.
  8. My buddy went to Lake Geneva on Sunday and they did much better. On the water at 6:00 a.m., same problem like everywhere else couldn't see 20 feet in front of you. They went to light house point picked up a 16 incher, went over to the narrows, and picked up (2) 19" smallies on top water. Worked that whole shoreline to Cedar Point and picked up 6 more bass between 14"-16". Went over to the old academy and got 2 dinks, and lastly shot over to Trinkies and picked up (1) 16 incher. He told me they had to leave at noon, because boat traffic was so bad, that they had numerous people skiing inside the buoys, apparently this is the worst he's seen as far as disregard for no wake buoy markers. Geneva is really out of hand on the weekend, need to fish it in the middle of the week when everyone else is working.
  9. Well what can I say about Beulah, another consecutive horse$$$t day. Well everything started out slow all the way to the end. Got up at 3:00 a.m. left at 4:00 a.m. and it was so foggy I thought I would get their at noon. 35 mph all the way to the lake. Got on the water at 6:15. Water temp 71 degrees, and couldn't see the lake either. Made are way slowly around the lake about 8: 00 got the first bass 15-3/4 ". 9:00 my wife got a 15-3/4" bass. Fog lifted at 10:30. From then on till 1:00, we got six small fish about 12". It was a horrible day for fishing. I should have stayed home and slept. Next Sunday plan to hit Delavan. You guys are probably right it must have been all the rain, I've never had such bad outings.
  10. Well Tichigan, was a slow day. We fished the main lake for 5 hours and only got one 12" walleye and 2 small bass about 12-13". On our way back to the launch we stopped, and started to fish docks. 3rd cast I got a 18-1/2" bass and also two more around 13". My partner got 2 small bass as well. All fish were caught on senko's wacky rigging. Hope tomorrow is better.
  11. Going to Tichigan tomorrow and Beulah on Sunday. Will post results when I get back.
  12. If you are looking to learn and try your hand at making things, then I would say go for it. I can help you with some tutorials on lead pouring and jig making. If you are looking to save money by making jigs or plastics, then it is cheaper to buy what you need. If you're interested in the tutorials PM me.
  13. I use 8lb Yozuri Hybrid Ultra Soft on Spinning and Yozuri Hybrid 10 -12 pound on my baitcasting. I got the recommendation from the guys on here and I love this line. Oh yes and KVD line conditioner.
  14. I looked there as well, and didn't see any 8lb. Search goes on.
  15. Don't see it there anymore. Called them up today and was told they no longer carry it? So I'm wondering if Yozuri stopped making it?
  16. I noticed I went to look for this line at my usual place and don't see it anymore. Are they still making this line? If so where are you guys buying it? Thanks in advance
  17. Like Mike Siebert said. You won't find a mold and no-one in their right mind will make one and copy it for you. It is illegal to even copy their product exactly for your own use. Either keep buying them, buy Netbait paca craws, or there are many other custom plastics guys that have a similar craw. I have used them all and they all work. One does not work better than the other in my opinion. If you put it in front of the fishes face it will eat it.
  18. You'll like your Tundra. I know a few guys that have them and never a negative thing about the truck. My next truck will be a Tundra for sure, I've always liked them. Right now happy with my 1994 F-150 with only 45K original miles.
  19. I have a dual flusher which I use on my 225 Optimax and 9.9 Pro kicker, never had a problem. Also you want to put the water on full force. Also if I remember correctly some motors also have a spot under the cavitation plate where it sucks water from the lake, so it just doesn't suck it in, in just one spot. Mine does take several seconds maybe 10 seconds before the water starts spitting out. However your single sided muff may not be enough. Just my opinion.
  20. There are a lot of good boats out there. Any one boat will not have everything you want. There is always something you would change. Find something first in your price range and look what you can get for the money you want to lay out. I looked at (3) boats in 2007 when I bought my Ranger 619VS multi species. I love my boat, but at the time I looked at Ranger Reata, Lund and Tracker Tundra. Each boat had its ups and downs. I am very happy with my purchase. Not a fast boat, but it is excellent in rough water.
  21. Ok, so here is my Long Lake report. Got on the water at 6:00 a.m. Started my usual a jig, nothing going on, my buddy was throwing a spinnerbait nothing there. I tried a different jig color, nothing, different trailer, nothing, rattle trap, nothing, shad rap nothing back to a jig got a couple of pick-ups fish dropped the bait. My buddy went through several different lures and different presentation, nothing. About 9:00 a.m. my buddy decided to put on a Carolina rig. 10 minutes later 1st fish in the boat a 17" bass. Another 15 minutes and another 17" bass. So I decided to put on a Carolina rig. I rarely fish this if ever, so this is a new technique for me. Got her all rigged up second cast a 16"er in the boat, about half hour later I got a 21" weighed in at 3 lbs 8 ozs. For the next two hours we slowly picked up fish after fish got a total of 12 bass that day from 16" t0 19" plus the bigger one. I am a very methodical jig fisherman, and I always catch fish on jigs. However, Sunday apparently the fish didn't like my presentation. They wanted nothing to do with it. What I noticed when I used my Carolina rig was that the bass wanted a free flowing more natural presentation and the Carolina rig was the ticket. Always learn something new when you go. Didn't take many pics below is the 3.8
  22. Going to Long Lake on Sunday. Will post results on Monday. Haven't heard anything about Delavan. My buddy was out on Geneva last Saturday for a tourney. Lot of limits with all fish over 18". He got (2) largemouth at 19" and (2) 21" smallies.
  23. I have (5) bait casters and 4 spinning signature series rods. I also have the Carbonlites in spinning for my wife. I love the signature series over the Carbonlites because they feel a little more sturdier. But I also like the Carbonlites on my spinning reel because they are very light. Both rods in my opinion are excellent rods and when you get them on sale, or do the Spring trade-in you can get a great deal. You won't be disappointed. I have Abu Revo Premiers on my bait casters, and Pflueger Supreme on my spinning rods.
  24. Went to Browns Lake on Sunday. My wife and I got (4) bass 16 to 16-1/2", (4) 15 to 15-1/2" and (2) 14" in 5 hours of fishing + 1 snakey hammer handle northern pike. All on jig and pig. water temp was 58 degrees.
  25. I have a Terrova, and it's like everything else. I never liked the cable steer, however they do respond faster. I also was never a big fan of the high pedals on the cable steer. But that is not an issue if you have them recessed. On my old boat, I had a Minn Kota power drive, and yes the turn time was slow. I love my Terrova, for what I use it and I wouldn't get a cable steer. Just my personal opinion. Depends on what you like and what you are used to.
