  1. So basically the more amps the faster the batteries charge. Are there any other advantages to having more amps? Would running an extension cord have much affect on the amps available? Most fishermen don't need the batteries charged in 4-5 hours but overnight (8-10 hrs) seems more reasonable. Thanks for the advice. Sorry for jumping on the original post.
  2. I am looking at getting a couple more AGM batteries and was thinking about getting the ProSport II charger from Cabela's because it is on sale. Could you describe the difference between this one and one that is $100+ more? Is the higher price justified in your opinion(s). I want to upgrade and extend the life of my batteries and would like to do it right.
  3. I found a similar situation on eBay. Where there was a great deal, buy it now deal on a boat, it was in a third party place, a shipping company, they gave a tracking number and it showed it was there. The guy faxed me a "copy" of the title. He said he was recently assigned to work in Hawaii and is storing the boat in the shipping company. Things just didn't sound right. Come to find out the same boat was posted a month later, I emailed again and it was a different story with a completely different title, from another state. I reported it to eBay but there was nothing really they could do.
  4. I fished it 2 years ago in a tournament. We won with 1 fish, it was over five pounds but it was a looooooong day until that bite. I think only 1/4 of the teams caught a keeper. It does look very like a very good bass lake though.
  5. Well Quinsig has been getting progressively worse through the years. Last weekend a tournament was held there and the winning weight was 7 lbs for 5 fish. Whitehall can be hit or miss I usually have more luck in the spring. I would suggest that you use senkos, twin tail grubs, light jigs in about 4-10 ft of water. Also look for weeds or some cover, with all the weed kills happening this is becoming more and more key. Ps. are you fishing from a boat? Have you fished Webster lake?
  6. I am having problems with the sonar screen on two Lowrance units connected together through a broadband, 2 transducers and a transducer switch. When the depth changes, the settings automatically change (appears to be surface clarity, noise rejection etc,)For example: when we are deeper than 20 ft of water the screen has a bunch of clutter and the fish show up well, but when we go shallower than 20 ft the settings change and much less shows up on the screen, The same happens around 10 ft etc..... The screen does from dark blue to white losing a lot of its sensitivity and then back again when we get deeper. I am sure its probably one of the settings but I just cant figure out which one. Whenever I change a setting it automatically changes back when we change depth. Also are there any differences in the settings (sensitivity, noise rejection, surface clarity, etc...) when you add the broadband?
  7. I just purchased a Revo Sx and paired it with a carrot 7'3" Stick. I cant wait for it to come in. I feel more comfortable with a longer rod for some reason.
  8. You need a separate battery for the trolling motor. The fish finders will automatically shut off when you have less than 11 volts I think. At least that is what I found out with my old cranking battery and larger Lowrance color unit. Once I jumped the battery and it gained more voltage it was good again.
  9. Anybody have any advice? Its a pain to download the waypoints from one unit and upload them to the other unit with an SD card, especially on the water. I checked the Lowrance website and couldn't find anything on it. Also tried hanging on the phone but didn't have the time.
  10. I use a bar of soap about every other time out until the bunks are nice and smooth. If you are replacing the carpet it's pretty easy, all you would need is a staple gun to put the new carpet back on.
  11. I have hooked up a lowrance LCX 38 and a LCX 112 on my bassboat. I have them hooked up with an ethernet cable through a broadband and expansion port as well as a the NEMA network cable. The problem I am having is that the GPS is shared but I cannot mark a waypoint on one unit and have it show up on the other. I made sure that both units had "share waypoints" checked and have updated each unit with the latest software. Did i wire the NEMA network wrong? I have no other problems except for the sharing of waypoints. Thanks in advance for any help.
  12. Done, good survey, would like to see the results.
  13. Hi all, I am looking at getting more into swimbaits, but living in the New England I am not sure how much or how long I will be "into" this technique. I will be throwing 5-8" swimbaits. I was thinking about picking up a BPS extreme in the 7'6" to 7'10" H range because they are on sale. Any recommendations? Good for the $$ ? I know some people like the Okuma rods but they are about double the price. Thanks
  14. I have used these all last season for wacky rigging a senko. They are now the only ones I will buy. They stay sharp, had real good hooksets and very few guthooks. I haven't tried them for anything other than senkos though.
  15. I am thinking about the same situation. I am planning on using a transducer switch SB-9BL #46-26 on the LEI site, to switch between two transducers for one head unit. The reason I am doing so is because I would like to run each one through the same broadband sounder. I am also running an ethernet cable between them to share GPS. The problem with that is I had to purchase an expansion port because the broadband sounder changes a transducer cable into an ethernet cable. If anyone else has a better way please let me know this is getting expensive for me.
