  1. I broke one of the middle guides off my rod and was wondering if this will affect the rods performance. The rod has 10 guides and i broke the 6th one off which is a little ways pass the midpoint. I only use the rod for short casts or skipping and pitching docks.
  2. My culling clips recently fell apart during a tournament last weekend. Just wondering what are some of the higher quality clips available.
  3. I fish alot of really clear lakes around the house and get a ton of 4-5 lb fish cruising slowly behind the baits but never eat them. I thought that maybe if i added eyes to them, like the zoom super fluke, that these followers might turn into potential tournament winning fish. Well, the other day i tried using expoxy to glue the eyes on but it seemed like the expoxy would not bind with the plastic. I also tried super glue but that didn't work either. What kind of glue should i be using? Something specifcally made for soft plastics like mend-it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  4. I have been trying to use 20lb power pro and a flourocarbon leader on my shakey head setup. I found a good knot to tie the fouro to the braid that will not break. The problem is my knot to my shakey head is breaking on every hook set. I love seagar invisx so i've been trying 10lb as my leader material. I've tried a palomar knot, clintch knot and a knot Shaw Grigsby said is the best fouro knot ever. My drag is loose as well so i don't know what the problem is. So... two qustions: What knot do you have the best luck with and should i try a different leader matarial?
  5. Homemade Mop Jig Homemade football jig KVD 1.5 CP series 1
  6. Anyone used this powder paint from fishingskirts.com. They have some awesome looking designs, especially the illusion series.
  7. The trolling motor batteries i was using have quit holding their charge. Ive heard a lot of hype about optimas but have also heard that all they are is hype. In your opinion, which batter have you had the most success with.
  8. I am wondering if i would be better suited for the 7.6 mh or the 7.7 medium. The lakes i fish do not have any kind of vegetation. The rod will mainly be used for pitching docks, laydowns and chunck rock banks. I always use 15 to 20lb flouro cause the lakes are clear as well. So I dont want a "broom stick", just something with enough power to pull 4-6 pounders out of cover and not snap 15-20 lb flouro on hook sets.
  9. I own both the light and tough and the falcon lowrider. Both rods have been outstanding in my opinion. In the market for another rod though and wanted to know what yall thought?
  10. I fish the flw collegiate circuit and we have a tournament during the last week of February. I am from south carolina and have never been to the lake before. There is no grass lakes around here either so i am unfamiliar with fising hydrilla and millfoil. From past tournaments i have come to the conclusion that most people throw rattle baits in the grass. Red crawfish type patterns seem to do good. My questions are: What are some other productive techniques, what depth to look for, and some names of some productive creeks. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
  11. I've been making my own football and mop style jigs for about two years now but i want to start making finesse jigs as well. A bunch of the finesse jigs i see flare out, but when i wrap the skirt with wire and tighten it down really tight it just hangs straight down. Any tips?
  12. every time i pour a 1/8 or 1/16 ounce jig head the hook is lose inside the lead. The castings are complete but hook just kind of slides back and forth in the lead. Any advice?
  13. I seen these molds on the internet the other day and they look like an awesome flipping head. I like the recessed line tie and they look like they have a flat head so they'll stand up on bottom. If anyone uses these heads give me some feedback on em.
  14. Wow. I have caught numerous 20lb+ bags on the live pointer. You have to work it like a fluke. Just finesse it and make is swim and they'll light it up. Won more money with it than probably anyting.
  15. Any used this stuff. I always use seagar or trilene flourocarbon, but it is so expensive. I seen where the vicious is only like $12 or something. Just wandering if i should just keep paying $20 a spool for line.
