I once knew a guy that got hurt on his job and couldn't work as a dry-wall installer, so while he had the time he lined his 16' john boat with mahogany veneer. Not realy practical, but really looked nice.
Playmaker 47 "your whole life" is not as long as some of my baits have been in the tackle box. Lizards are a great bait for fishing brush piles and laydowns. Texas rig 'em and let them fall through the branches. They also work well durig the spawn as this is the time when fish are fighting them off of the nest.
There is a private pond that I know of where the rule is any bass 10" or under has to be kept or thrown on the bank. All bass over 10" have to go back. This pond is teaming with both bass and blue gill (all the blue gill are supposed be harvested, regardless of size). There are some really nice bass in this pond for it's size (around 7 acres), but would this rule eventually lead to all of the bigger fish dieing off and there being only stunted fish?
Don't know if I've posted this story here or not, but one of the guys in my fishing club uses Preparation H on his soft plastic baits -- he says it keeps them from drying out and "leaves a slime trail in the water".
There was a news story on the local channel here last night that suggested that the ice should be at least 3" to 5" for one person to be safe. The story also said that "clear" ice was the safest.
