  1. Can someone tell me did I miss something with this line? I haven't seen or heard anything to this regard, please advise. piercedl910@comcast.net (txfisherman)
  2. I also use the Lock-N-Haul system. When it is in place the motor stays straight and locked into place. I have been using one on my Yamaha 200 for a year and it works great. Take a look at the Lock-n-Haul advanced transom savers.
  3. Welcome aboard.
  4. Tragedy at KY Lake 10/8/2010 An accident this morning at Barkley Lake claimed the life of a co-angler fishing the BFL Regional there. Kentucky Dept. of Fish & Wildlife public-affairs officer Sgt. Garry Clark issued the following statement to another site about the accident. "Two bass boats in two different tournaments collided on Barkley Lake near Kuttawa, Ky. at approximately 7:15 this morning," Clark said. "One boat was fishing the Renegade Bass Classic, and there were two people on that boat. The two people in the other boat were fishing the BFL Regional bass tournament. They were on Barkley out in the main channel one heading east, the other heading west. They came on a collision course and collided with each other. When they realized they were on the same course they tried to make amends and still collided. "On the (Renegade) boat, it ejected the operator but he had his lifejacket and killswitch on and it didn't hurt him. (Both the driver and the passenger) were unhurt. In the other boat, the passenger did have the boat hit him and he died on the scene. The driver was okay he had his safety stuff on too. He was practicing safety as far as having the killswitch hooked up and lifejacket on while moving." Sgt. Clark added that the deceased was a 41-year-old male from Eupora, Miss. According to FLW Outdoors standings and pairings for the event, Freddy McCrory was the only co-angler in the event from Eupora, Miss. His boater today was David "Scotty" Young. Young, a Kentucky Lake legend, survived a terrible boating accident in October 2007 at the Kentucky Lake BFL Regional that resulted in lacerations to his head and a neck injury that required surgery. His accident apparently occurred when his boat contacted underwater structure. Young's motor became dislodged and struck him. His partner then was uninjured. The sport grieves.
  5. South Toledo Bend State Park might be an option since that is directly accross the lake from that area. http://www.toledo-bend.com/attractions/index.asp?request=stbsp
  6. I vote for Nov 6th
  7. Count me in for the first weekend of November, I will be out on business travel the last week of October and not return until that weekend and not able to be at the lake before the next weekend. I look forward to the trip and hope to see a good turn out. The first Toledo Bend Get Together was great, would like to see more participation. Let's get it on.
  8. Good luck to you guys and Jack you take it easy on that back, we still need you around here. Have a safe trip. Dan
  9. You might try Big Bass Marina at 318-586-4721. They are about 3 miles by water from Cypress Bend south of Negreet Creek on the Louisiana side. They cabins, trailers and open sites, with a resturant and boat ramp with gas on the water. Good luck.
  10. Jack, my place is open to you, i will be there I believe on Thursday, where i will be working on the tournament friday thru sunday, so let me know. I could possibly put up one more at the house, where I have an air mattress for someone. My place is located 3 miles south of Cypress Bend by water and located by Big Bass Marina. They are 2 launch ramps within 1 mile of the trailer and have power available.
  11. That is great news and congrats to your friend on the closing. I will keep you posted on my plans as still awaiting the scheduling from my mother, should either hear today or tomorrow, then I can set my plans. Plans are for now, Fish Bass-N-Bucks Saturday (10th), if the surgery is scheduled for early next week, drive on over to Baton Rouge Sunday, go through surgery and out of ICU, then drive back to Lakehouse, collect my boat and goods and be on the water early Friday morning for first light and catch up to you guys Friday evening in Zavalla. Look forward to these plans coming through and meeting you guys at the lake. I will be in touch later with details. My cell phone is 832-477-2635 and email is piercedl910@comcast.net, which goes to my Blackberry and that is with me all the time, as long as I have service. Thanks for the invitation and look forward to it. Dan
  12. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Jack pm the information to me and if things will work out I may do just that, join you guys in Zavala. This is a way to meet and spend some time with others like our last outing on the Bend. I will be up on Rayburn next Friday and Saturday if the surgery holds off, then return to Houston to turn around and be back on Thursday night to pick up the boat and be on the water before first light Friday. I will post you on the plans as they go and when I know what they will be, once I hear from from the family in Baton Rouge. Dan
  13. I am planning on being there, registered and ready, but awaiting to hear if and when my mother is going to have her heart surgery and may have to miss. Won't know until middle of next week. I was planning on either stay in my truck at one of the parks where I can plug up my boat each night or drive over from my lakehouse on T Bend, depending on the weather. Am planning on staying at this time down around the south end of the lake at this time. Will stay in touch. Dan
  14. Likewise_ great to put a face to the name and players. Hope things get ironed out on the motor and look forward to the next oppurtunity.
  15. I made the trip back to Southeast side of Houston safely, and ended up the remainder of the weekend doing my Honey-Dos for the wife. I enjoyed getting to meet all that showed up and look forward to meeting all again. We missed you Wesley and Catt. but understand how things come up. I am up for another get together. Had a blast and learned some more about this lake. Even though I have fished this lake but mostly the southern end of the lake, I found from the information and guidance from Jack, he helped produce some nice fish and I found someone that fishes a lot like I do. Maybe some partnering down the road may be in order. I had a blast catching the fish I did catch, and watch Jack pull his fish up helped me to relate to what the fish were doing Saturday. We were probably for the most part of the day paralleling each other, from time to time I was on one side of the grassline and Jack was on the other side, we took turns catching fish. My two fish I caught were caught on carolina rig Watermelon/Red Flake worm and Chrome/Blue Back/Orange belly rattle-trap over the grass. I agree with Jack, in the future, we need to have some better understanding by the participants, either it is established or understood, if participating in the event, someone must be notified if you are not going to show up for the weighin to ensure everyone is safe. Look for the chance to do this again. Dan
