  1. Well done!
  2. For me it's that feeling when launching; the excitement of expectation. The rest of the day whether I do well or not I will be forever grateful to be able to do something I love whenever, for the most part, I want. There are days/nights I sit at the helm for a few minutes and take stock in being blessed to do this. To clarify, of course I want to catch fish but if I ever lose that excitement while launching, the unbridled joy, then I will wonder if it's time.
  3. Outstanding! This is history and a glimpse into what goes into catching a once in a lifetime Bass. I, like @A-Jay, have copied this. This is another Sterling example of why this is the best Bass fishing site on the Internet! Thanks Tom!
  4. For years I fished Shimano and Berkley. I tried a Cashion on the recommendation from a friend. I was Highly impressed and bought another. And another...lol I plan to phase out all the Shimanos(quality issues) and go with Cashion.

  8. Started at 3 years old catching Bream and shell cracker on a cane pole. Bass in a couple of years as they were bigger and good eating. My Daddy was a meat fisherman and never understood why in my late teens I practiced catch and release. 57 years fishing and it has been a great ride!

  20. I fished out of old aluminum boats for a very long time. The first one had only a trolling motor. I caught plenty of fish and a few decent one's too boot. No, I couldn't run all over the lake, no I couldn't afford a depthfinder nor high end equipment. One thing I could do was fish. I might have admired new boats and nice equipment but never really cared as long as I was able to fish. There has been some very sound advice from folks on this thread. Read it and re-read it. My wife and I looked at buying our retirement boat and then covid hit. We ended up with a 17 ft. aluminum boat with a 50 horse motor and 45 lb thrust trolling motor. It has serviceable electronics and has been a great little boat. We are putting away a ton of money and will buy new right before I retire. So at 64 I will have a new boat. I know this post is a bit disjointed but the entire point is never make a financial choice based solely on want. That usually ends up costing you. And; never, ever become so financially strapped that you can't enjoy life.
  21. I'll be there all weekend.
  22. Zoom 8" Dead Ringer. Red Shad.
  23. Deep crankbaits. I spent a good part of the past two Summers doing this and that experiment is over. I gave it a fair shake and was not successful.
