  1. I'm not directly participating but have a story nonetheless. My son left for college In August and I have seen him twice since. He came home for Fall break and we got together for some long overdue daddy- son time. He walked In , like always, and I happened to be paying a bill online and didn't look up for a second. To my surprise when I got up to hug him he had a full beard. When he was at home he had no facial hair and to say I was a little surprised was an understatement. I asked him about It and he simply said:" daddy, It's no shave November." I laughed and told him about this thread.

  3. I'm like others on this thread In that I'm thankful for having a fiance' that completely understands that to me fishing Is more than just catching. She has a taken an Interest and whether we catch fish or not we ALWAYS enjoy eachothers company, laugh a lot, talk about many things , and generally are grateful we are able to spend that type of quality time together. The one thing she laughs about Is the day she caught her first bass I couldn't have been happier. It literally made my day!
  4. It's hard to go wrong with Norman crankbaits.............

  8. I don't know If this goes with the theme of the thread but.... The most positive thing that happened to me this year, with regards to fishing, was cutting ties with a longtime fishing partner. I have thoroughly enjoyed this year and have stepped outside my usual fishing parameters and tried different presentations, I tried some combinations that others might consider oddball combinations, and generally didn't have the distractions and negativity from the previous years. It's safe to say that not even 50% of the bait combunations were a rousing success but there are a few that I will fish at least a decent part of my time out on the water. To pick just one; a Siebert outdoors Zenith shakeyhead paired with a smallie beaver. I had always fished this with a Zoom finesse worm. I was thinking about it one night and decided to try the beaver as It made sense to me. I caught a 7 during prespawn with that exact bait and will throw It from bare banks to the thickest brush. To say I'm pleased with this combination Is an understatement!

  12. In a highly pressured situation I downsize sometimes but In the end on the lakes I fish downsizing will get you more bites, period. They might not be the big bites but they will be bites nonetheless. That being said I usually start with bigger baits and If I'm not catching fish I downsize.
  13. A worm/creature, a crankbait, a jig, and topwater.......

  21. I fish creature baits a lot and have a supreme confidence In them. One of the newer ways I have been fishing them, mainly early Spring through the spawn, is on a shakeyhead. I prefer a R.I.. smallie beaver but I would Imagine any smaller creature bait will be effective.

  23. I fish Siebert jigs exclusively and I'm going to place another order next week. The one jig that's rarely mentioned but I have had unreal success with is the Zenith shakeyhead. It's the best shakeyhead I have ever fished and for the most part it's replaced the traditional tx rig. That's not to say i don't tx rig anymore but more times than not I prefer the Zenith!
  24. That's pretty cool!
