  10. I don't know how well these pictures will show how I organize my stuff. I made the decisions several years ago that taking so much of what I own on an outing was counter-productive and realized I didn't need 1/2 , or more, of what I brought. I thought a little about it and decided to organize my baits within sight instead of having 10 or more tackle boxes/bags to store. I was fortunate enough to have enough room In the last two houses I have owned and went the pegboard route. I know exactly what I have, know when to order more, and never forget I bought a particular bait(s). To some It's aggravating to pick baits off a rod to load in my tackle bag for the day but for me the night before preperation is most always fun. I, like others, go seasonal so there are baits that stay In the bag for that season, for Instance for the Summer there's always a staple of worms that stay In the bag and are replaced when needed. It's a system that works for me but In the end you have to figure out what's best for you.
  11. This is a very solid post! The only thing I can add Is this: Having "stuff" doesn't make the fisherman, wanting "stuff" doesn't mean It will make you a better fisherman, and needing "stuff" is most always a matter of perception. It takes years to understand yourself as a person and this applies to your fishing Identity. I used to be all about "stuff" and used maybe 10% of what I thought I really "needed." I made a conscience decision to buy what worked for me, try to buy things on sale(It doesn't always work )and I came to this Important realization that, speaking only for me, quality will most always trump quantity. As for expense, as RW quite eloquently states there's no rush.

While It will almost assuredly shut the majority of the places down my wife Is a state employee in healthcare and she will work no matter the conditions. The funny thing, In a month I will be fishing in 60-70 degree weather. I can't wait. Did I mention, Winter sucks!?

  21. If everyone used the search function for every topic that had been discussed there would be very little If any topics to discuss. To the original poster, keep asking questions as this Is what this website Is designed to do; ask questions, learn, and generally enjoy yourself. Inexpensive reels; there are many options with my personal choice being the Shimano Caenan. I bought one on sale for $50.00 two years ago and It's been great. I use It mostly to throw small weightless worms. It casts well, is fairly smooth, and I've caught fish in the 5+ range and it handled quite well.
