Good color for just about any time is white. Personally, my white spinnerbaits need a few red strands in it so I'll make my own skirts with white and a few red strands. But that's my preference. 3/8oz is a good weight for most spinnerbait applications. Strike king is a nice brand and haven't had any problems with their spinnerbaits. If you don't mind spending some extra dollars I suggest trying a Ko-Man-Chi spinnerbait. Also, if you are fishing clear water with a healthy population of bluegills a bluegill pattern is killer. As for blade color, silver for clear water, gold for muddy or stained water.
