  1. There was another vid on youtube, where he was letting people out of the bus and he could be clearly seen by all, and no shots wer taken or anything. Then the shotter looked out of a window for like 8 seconds and nothing was done. That on swat guy accidentally threw his hammer into the bus and reached in and got it back. JEEZ! A group of 9th graders could do better!
  2. Usually i just swing em up and lip them while in the air. If i can though, i'll lip them while they are still in the water, but since my canal has a seawall that is about 3 feet higher than the water, it's is not always possible lol. The only place i use a net is in my backyard and on a boat where im not really walking around. Otherwise, i don't feel like carrying a net when im beating the banks.
  3. Awesome. "I need it." "Looks like it would work..."
  4. Whats with the guy just to the left of the bull, that face is awesome!
  5. Sheesh, thought it was just me!
  6. WELCOME! Wow, South Africa! That is quite a bit away lol! I didn't even know bass were in South Africa. Anyways, you will learn so much from this site. The community is the best and the fishing articles here are detailed and informative. Don't be shy, post some questions ;D!
  7. I never done this before and i was wondering how you paint a lure without an airbrush? just some regular paint from the craft store? Also, when im done shaping the lure how do i seal it? Lastly, I bought some devcon 2 ton 2part epoxy. Do i just mix it in a bowl and paint it on the lure, let dry and bam im done?
  8. Dang dude, those paint jobs are clean!
  9. The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad. ~A.K. Best The gods do not deduct from man's allotted span the hours spent in fishing. ~Babylonian Proverb There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process. ~Paul O'Neil, 1965 I love fishing. You put that line in the water and you don't know what's on the other end. Your imagination is under there. ~Robert Altman
  10. The experiment really doesn't do anything to prove the point. On taught line, nobody slowly sets the hook. Or slack line for that matter.
  11. got back from vacation and saw more after the day i posted it and then i saw some last night too. THe night i posted this my stepdad got out is super telescope. Jupiter was out so we aimed it over there and saw its moons and Jupiter in some pretty good detail 8-).
  12. I'm getting hungry... X2, like pieces of candy!
  13. Ya, somtimes you wont have any idea they are there until you lift up your rod and feel the weight of a fish. I try to get em on the first tick i feel, if i set the hook and no fish, i cast to the same spot and let the fish take for a bit longer.
  14. I live in algonac michigan and saw atleast 15 different meteors. I think they are called something else if they don't reach the ground, cant remember? Anyways, i had a good view and saw one shooting star that left a streak in the sky and lasted for about 6 seconds. One of the most amazing things i've seen so far.
  15. Yo-Zuri hybrid is a great line. It is a fluorocarbon and nylon combination. It has great strength/abrasion resistance. I didn't notice it being very stiff at all. That was my first time using any kind of fluorocarbon. Also, Sufix Siege is another mono i tried and it was AMAZING Next time i restock on line i will be buying Sufix Elite. I read a review on TackleTour about Elite and #12 line broke on average at i think 19.9lbs of force! Sufix is also wound on extra big spools and a winding process that nearly eliminate line memory. LOL i sound like a commercial, but im so excited to try elite!
  16. Oh man, Fantasy football! Helps stave off cabin fever. Anyone got suggestions on some new guys that might pay off?
  17. I might be goin up there with a cousin for the weekend and was wondering if any good spots around there. I see there is a sleeper state park there. Anyone try there?
  18. Hmmm, I got a fly rod, but don't use it much. mainly for panfish in my backyard. I should have tried and inline spinners. Atm i only have 12lb mono on but i got some 50lb braid im gonna put on. There is some REALLY nice slop farther down the creek, that last year produced really well with a topwater frog.
  19. LoL, Big Tom's avatar made me try to get the fly off my screen....
  20. I went to one of my older stomping grounds that i had not been to in months. Its a pretty big creek with a massive amount of slop on the top. Weed growth is still pretty good. I started throwing at Space Monkey as a top water frog. On the 4th or 5th cast i had on hit. He came off at the end of the fight. I kept casting the same thing up and down the bank and nothing. I kept seeing "fish" blow up the surface. I'm pretty sure it is not carp since the spawn is over. I also saw Baitfish hopping out of the water every so often and biting at the surface. I fished from i think 6pm-8pm. Other lures i tried were: Texas rigged trick worm/power worm, spro frog (in black, white and green/yellow), Zara spook. I even tried a double fluke rig with two baby bass colored spooks. Nothing. All the while, fish are exploding the surface with the baitfish popping aroung. What the heck do i gotta do to catch em?
  21. Try it. Wouldn't hurt. Different style of creature bait i guess?
  22. I caught my biggest fish of the year on an original jitterbug my grandpa gave me.
