  1. Workaholics! Trailer park boys as well. Ya might not like it. It's a canadian comedy show kinda like the office.
  2. I've hooked into several this year but have not managed to land one. Break off my line or get off. The first one I had on this year, I thought was a big muskie. Got it close to the kayak and saw it was a bowfin that was almost 3ft long. Was not too thrilled about taking him off the hook in a kayak but he shook off.
  3. Wowwwwww......just when I have no discretionary income...fudgesicles
  4. If you want to venture out with something that's pretty simple, go to spinnerbaits. Always got one tied on when I go out. They are simple, effective and semi-weedless. 3/8oz, white/chartreuse, double silver willowleaf.
  5. I know how ya feel. I look at my box of jigs and think "WHEN AM I EVER GOING TO USE THESE?" Of the maybe 30 jigs I have, I've probably caught 15 bass MAYBE on jigs in my entire life.
  6. You can also use those metal twist ties that are used on like bread and stuff. I just tie directly like Francho says. I've gotten rather fast improved clinch knot and it's really not a hassle to me at all.
  7. Before I buy a new car though, I think I'm just going to get as much use out of it as possible. Drive this son of a gun into the ground!
  8. The garage figured it out and they don't even want to fix it. Don't have the specialty tools to do it and it's about 15-20 hours of work. Called the ford dealership down the road and they said it would cost between $2000-5000 dollars depending on which chain or belt or whatever it was that needed to be fixed. My car only bluebooks for like 3500, and thats in good working order. Time for a new car. He said specs on the inline for the roatary girder looked fine though. Don't think it was that.
  9. I drive a 2000 ford explorer and the other day I took my car into a mechanic because it started acting funny. About 2-3 weeks ago my car died on me and when I started it up it wouldn't accelerate as fast. Then Sunday I started it up and it accelerated even slower. After dropping it off yesterday at the shop and calling today for an update, the guy told me that he thinks the timing chain jumped, and the camshaft timing was off or something. Asked how much it might cost and said it would be $1800 :'(. And for that, i dunno, rather buy another car :/. I don't have much knowledge about cars and was wondering if any of y'all could elaborate on this?
  10. So it flexes along the length or the width? I thought the seat was petty cool also, Probably will take some getting used to, having a higher center of gravity. But yeah, definitely sure I'm getting this. The price of it is awesome for all the features and size. All I'm gonna need is a better rack though. Currently I just use foam blocks that go onto my factory roof rack on my Explorer. But I can tell it slides a bit on turns, and I tighten the crap out of all the tie downs, and that scares me lol. Maybe laying the kayak upside down would do better :/ Going to get one of those J cradle kayak racks.
  11. Weighs 84lbs, about 30lbs more than my current kayak. It's not like Im hiking with this thing, though. I plan on getting it sometime hopefully mid summer. How much flex is it, is it really noticeable? And does it flex like from front to back or does it, uhh twist, now what Im saying? Seriously cannot wait to get one of theses. Going to be a HUGE upgrade from my current kayak.
  12. I currently hav a trophy beach 126 that I'm getting tired of. Only 10'6", storage is a hassle and it's a sit in. I think I would like a sit on top much more. The FS128T looks like a TANK! 4 flush rod holders, looks like plenty of storage and a comfortable seat (My current seating arrangement is a painful one). I'm used to a small kayak so I guess I would have to get used to turning being different. Anybody got anything to say about this?
  13. I'm in the same boat. But good luck y'all, tight lines! And excellent fish 00 mod!
  14. Fluke is my favorite bait to fish, mext to spinnetbaits. I get good numbers and its fun. 98% of the time its weightless, always pearl. I've known about the belly up method but never really tried, though. I usually use ewg hooks as well. I've gotten rather well at making it do the walk-the-dog action just far enough under the water so that it makes a small surface disturbance, but not so much that it is popping out of the water. I'll cast along a weed line or some lily pads and boom goes the dynamite.
  15. I dont have a garage full of gear but I have enough that I need to pick and choose what I take with me. In my kayak, I can bring my worm binder, 2 3600 boxes and several more bags of soft plastics. I Usually bring mainly what I have a lot of confidence in, then several lures that i think could possibly work or that I just want to try out. I can take 3 rods when kayak fishing and I use up to four when shore fishing.
  16. X2 on the hook sharpener, great to touch up some dull spinnerbaits or jigs or any hook that as lost it's point. I use it to touch up the points on a bunch of my lures every so often when I have some downtime.
  17. Howdy Dave! I'm from New Baltimore and fish St. Clair a lot as well. Do you fish metro beach at all?
  18. LAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMME
  19. So now that the season is on, have you gotten to do some fishing yet? Any luck? What's happenin? I've fished Metro Beach off of St. Clair twice now (Kayak on saturday, from shore today). Done rather well. My biggest fish have come on a spinnerbait, couple on a rage craw, fluke, and inline spinners. Something different this year is the amount of bowfin. It's ridiculous! My first time even seeing one was last year and now they are all over the place in the marsh and canals I fish. They are constantly splashing and making commotion at the surface. Not sure if they are actually biting at something or just trying to distract me. They are a pretty dang good fight though. But I have yet to land one. They've shaken off or broken my line every time. How are y'all doin?
  20. Went out to try some panfishing today in brandenberg park in new baltimore and it was realllllllly muddy. Probably due to the wind. Got my rods rigged., Kayak is on the truck, and im going to bed soon and I'll let y'all know how it goes!
  21. About 5 years ago, I had just gotten my daiwa regal and bionic blade spinning rod and reel combo from BPS and had picked up some misc tackle while i was there. It was my first time targeting bass and I was fishing using a 3/4oz bullet weight and a trick worm in about 2 feet of water. Not catching anything at all. Some guy and his buddy walked up to me asked me how I was doing and i told em i wasn't getting anything. Saw what I was using and suggested what he was catching them on: a 7.5 inch Berkley Power worm in motoroil, 1/16oz bullet weight, and an offset bend hook. I started ripping some serious lips. Must have caught 10 bass on that one worm at least (Which is mind blowing because now I cant get them to last 4 fish). I found the guy again and thanked him a bunch for helping me out.
  22. 1/4oz and 1/16oz are what I normally use. Wind, depth, and if i'm wanting a slow or fast fall are all factors that go into what i choose though. If it's awfully windy i'm obviously not going with a 16th oz.
  23. Spinnerbaits, lipless cranks, worms, jigs, jerk baits, etc...take your pick. Spinnerbaits always seem to be a solid option for me. White, 3/8oz double, willowleaf, and a trailer hook.Going into detail with each would be lengthy and I'm sleepy Spring articles: http://www.bassresource.com/seasonal-fishing-articles#spring List of articles for lures: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing-lures-articles/
  24. St. Clair is not in the south and senkos work great. I suggest you get a new book!
