  1. Poppers, never caught one on a popper.
  2. I dont think it is a better fish attractor, perhaps, makes them hold longer and masks scent like another poster said. The only attractant I KNOW to work is megastrike.
  3. "MAN do i got a case of the munchies, OoOoOoO injured shad" "OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!IM NOT HUNGRY, ANYMORE I SWEAR!!!!!!!!!"
  4. Yep, happens some times. Be VERY CAREFUL if you use a dye. If you dye a bait and then put it back with the other non-dyed plastics, you will get massive bleeding. Did this with chartrues dye and a bunch of white flukes
  5. Thats tough. You do not want it to heal improperly though.
  6. Lol, sometimes the rule in fishing is that there are no rules
  7. Big dare devils!
  8. And here ya go
  9. A floating rapala, didn't go very far, but I got it out there
  10. It just lets me chill. I don't have to worry about anything.
  11. I as well. I was able to get fish in areas that I never have before.
  12. Had the same problem today. Bass are actually pretty skiddish in my experience. I would see some swirling going on and would walk right to the edge and the bass would zoom off (I could see with m polarized glasses on). So instead of that I stood back a casted to where I saw the swirling and boom, fish on. Also, get yourself some polarized sunglasses if you don't already, might help IDing the swirling fish.
  13. So today i went fishing and caught 6LM. Yesterday I went with my little brother hoping to get him interested in bass fishing and got NOTHING Anyways, It rained on and off today and and at one point it started pouring and caught three within about 10 minutes on a flick shake. I caught my last one around 12pm an fished for 2 more ours and had nothing. Where do they go, obviously they are still there because I saw one cruising along the shoreline. But when the sun is in the middle of the sky and its the hottest point of the day, what do y'all recommend?
  14. LOL, thanks fellas! I'm thinkin of tossing a craw or jig/trialer and slowly crawling it around over and over again, do you think casting more will make them angry?
  15. So I got out of school and went fishing from about 12pm to 2:20pm. Its been generally warmer this past week also, about mid 50s to 60s. As I fished along the shore, several times I noticed bass almost rolling around with each other. I'm guessing this means they were mating, because I've seen gar pike do almost the same thing, except the bass were staying in the same spot. At one point I saw 2 or 3 bass doing the rolling thing, and I casted a white spinnerbait (which I had caught a few fish on just a week before) and at least 15 times, casted about 5 ft past them and ran it right by them or on top of them, at various speeds and also adding pauses and jerks. NOTHING! I did try a bass colored super fluke with some spikeit and was able to catch one. The one I caught though was a little bit passed were I had seen the mating bass though. Also saw a few cruising bass and was bale to get one with a bluegill colored spinner bait, with 4 blades on it. What I want to know is.... -How long will this last? -Is this the best time to fish of the year? -How do I catch the fish I saw mating? -When I stop seeing the bass do this, will I be able to catch more or is this the best time to fish?
  16. Went to my favorite shore fishing spot last Wednesday for the first time this year. It was pretty windy, about 58 degrees, and sunny. There were very few weeds and the water had brown stain. Usually, there are plenty of weeds this time of the year, but Michigan has had some wacky weather this year. I brought two friends who have never really done any bass fishing before and I was hoping they would enjoy it. Started out with a white spinnerbait by some docks and after a few casts went to another area that was kinda like a creek. On my second cast caught about a 1.5lb bass. Wanting to see somebody else catch a fish, I gave the spinnerbait to one of my friends. About an hour later the friend that I gave my lure to caught a high 3lb bass. He was SOOOO excited, as was I! Then gave the white spinnerbait the second friend to hopefully get him to catch a fish. 2 hours later, I noticed a lot of dead fish. I'm guessing that it is because the lack oxygen. So i tied on a weightless white super fluke and worked it nice n slow, with a few twitches. On my second or third cast caught another nice largemouth. That was it for the day. Quote from one of my friends "Dude, Even though i caught one fish and was just casting around, i wasn't bored, you wanna go again tomorrow?"
  17. Ya, i just use the snaps, no swivel. Great for using cranks and spinnerbaits.
  18. Alright so I used some kvd line conditioner and used a big deep diving crank and fished for a bit. Seemed to do the trick! Thanks fellas!
  19. Well, when there are few weeds,I would think that there is a lack of oxygen. I noticed this the other day when i went shore fishing. I was fishing with a white spinnerbait and was just casting parallel to the shore. When I casted out to the middle I was getting some weeds, I was also getting strikes and catches. But I got neither strikes nor weeds when casting along the shore. Another thing, I saw several fish belly up, living but they were suffering from a lack of oxygen
  20. So I went fishing on Wednesday and left my rod in the car. It got pretty hot today and was in direct sunlight, so I do not know if that could have been the issue but it was fine on Wednesday and today it was terrible! I'm using Suffix elite #12 and before today, it was the had the least amount of memory I've seen in a line. A while ago I got some KVD line conditioner from the man himself and was wondering if I should use that or is it possible that the heat has permanently done some damage? Also, how should I apply the line conditioner?
  21. Well im on a canal off the north channel, but its a canal with current moving through it and as far as i can tell, seems clean to me! Warmth wise, air temps have been in the 60ish area. Not tooooo great =/, but we've been havin some strange weather (thats michigan for ya). Winds have been pretty inconsistent.
  22. Bass season starts on the 3rd Saturday of April. We've had a weird spring this year, it actually snowed in mid april! Anyways, water temp has to be in atleast the 40s, but im not forsure. I haven't done any real fishing yet, just casting off my deck, messing around with new lures. Where ya fishing at? I'm on St. Clair.
  23. I'm on the north channel and usually fish in the bouvier/anchor bay area. But, I was just wondering if anybody was fishing st. clair yet. Seems like we have had a real late winter
