  1. Our construction crew is headed to Miami for a while. I always carry my jon boat, powered with trolling motor. We will be near the arport (I believe) and I see water there on the map. Any suggestions on bass fishing near there?
  2. I'll be there. Was at the last one at Lay and it was a blast.
  3. I posted about this earlier, but the extended forecast has gotten much worse. Leaving Tuesday from KY. Atleast it'll be a little less cold, but this is really disappointing We were really looking forward to this trip.
  4. Im going Jan. 7th-14th and it looks like it really going to cool down, with highs in the low to mid 60s starting this weekend. How bad will it hurt the fishing? Not familair with Florida cold fronts, but Ive heard it can absolutely kill the fishing.
  5. If you could fish Lake Kissimmee any time for big bass when would you go?
  6. Dont rule out Texas. Falcon is producing 50lb bags occasionally. Also, back in its day fork produced an 18.8 and a 20lb floater is mounted in one of the bait shops there that I have seen. With the genetics of the share a lunker program I think its possible... a long shot, but possible. Hopefully Japan was a fluke.
  7. Its crawfish guys. Every fish that swims eats em. This was this past Wed. in 40 degree water in KY.
  8. Do I need to bring a bunch of 10" worms?
  9. Lee, If I end up going alone, which looks likely, you'll have to come fish with me when you can. Hopefully they'll still have a cabin available there. That looks like the right place for me.
  10. Im planning on coming down to fish Kissimmee the day after christmas and stay for a week. Im going to be fishing out of a small jon boat, should I be ok? Anybody recommend a really cheap place to stay nearby? Any guesses on the fishing?
  11. Im planning a trip back to Lakeland this year and I was wondering about the lake levels. Last winter they were a little low.
  12. Thank you for all of your help. Its going to be hard to sleep for the next few nights! I'll let you all know how it went when I get back.
  13. Hey guys- dont think that I dont value your advice- I know youre right Im just hard headed and had my heart set on a trophy lake. Im going to take your advice, I'll stay within my limitations. Actually, the guy who planned on going with me had to back out. So I'll be going it alone. I believe I'll stick with saddle creek park and fish tenoroc when its open. Thanks for the advice and honesty. I'd really like to concntrate on water where I'll have a decent shot at a few big bass. Which lakes should I focus on at Tenoroc? Also, is there a number where I can call to make sure I'll have a piece of ground with a power outlet? Also- is there any of these places where night fishing is not allowed?
  14. This is really disappointing. The girl at Stick Marsh Bait and Tackle on the phone said it would be no problem, people are out there in canoes all the time. I really didnt want to travel that far to go fish a state park. :-/
  15. Thanks. Im leaving this sunday. I know, its a spurt of the moment trip.
  16. Hey, I was referrd to this site for help. Im glad I was because this seems like a good forum. I am graduating from college this spring here in KY and before classes start back in a couple weeks Im heading to Florida for bass. All I have is a 10ft jonboat w. trollingmotor, and Im planning on camping ina tent (hotel would be great but remember Im a college student lol), but I need a place where I can charge my batteries as well. What do you think considering- should I go to stick marsh (will it be ok w/ my small boat) or should I go to the tenoroc pits in Lakeland? If youre at all familiar with htese areas and can recommend a place to camp w/ power I'd appreciate it! I forgot to mention Ive never been to florida.
