  1. I grew up fishing Caddo. A GPS and a map are good things to have on this lake! If you are going to fish the Texas side, I would launch at Johnson ranch because it is closest to the big water. I would look at Old folks play ground and work isolated trees and and duck blinds. the grass should be thining now and easier to fish. White spinner baits, watermelon red ribbit frogs, flukes and black/blue jigs. Good luck and there are lots of fish in top of the slot. 20 lb. stings are plentyful but not keepable.
  2. That's good advice! Thanks.I'm hoping to find some recommendations for a few to check out in the Houston area because I don't know of any. "I" have never needed one until now. The taxidermist that advertises on the site shows some great work but I know of no one that has used that person. I have been told that a person in Woodville,Tx does so so work but I want better than "so so" for this fish!
  3. My 15yr old son gave me the greatest Fathers Day gift today! He landed a 10.01 on Conroe. A feat that I have not yet achived! I have taken all measurments and photos and now I need to know who and where to get a replica made. I am open for suggestions!!!
  4. Too bad no one has responded to this post because I could use a little help myself!! I'll finally have my boat back together tomorrow after the beating it took during the McDonald's tournament! I am planning to fish on Conroe this Sunday but I have not been on that lake in over 2 years and for some reason I have never had true success there. I was hoping to find out what and where if any one knows!? :-?
  5. I could use some advise on which map card to purchase for my Eagle Chartplotter GPS unit. I fish on Conroe,Rayburn and Toledo mostly. I've been using the old way of paper maps and an older non-mapping GPS.I am hoping to ease the pain of locating fishing areas! :-?
