  1. The best kept fishing secret in Texas will be reveled. Nooooooooooooooooooo :'(
  2. I'm looking for two bait-casting reels in the $50-$70 price range for the two new rods I got for my birthday. I ordered some Daiwa pro-casters from BPS, they were not what I wanted so I sent them back. I'm looking for reels that have at least a 6;2;1 but nothing over 6;3;1I want a reel that will be able to handle crankbaits ,C-rigs, T-rigs, and Cast and reel very smoothly. I've been looking at reels at Cabelas and BPS, But most of the reels in my price range seem to be a hit-and-miss thing, sometimes you get something good, other times you get junk. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. good luck and tight lines
  3. Ok just wondering, I told guy name LOZbasser on another talk fourm about getting it from a tire shop, Just wondering if your the same guy
  4. Howdy from another Texas guy
  5. Hey IDbasser did you here about geting lead from tire shops on another talk forum?
  6. Storm wild eye's is a very good swimbait for the price. I have seen days where they are all the fish want and days where the fish will eat anything but these. I do like the storm minnow better then the eyes, but I have bolth, the main problem with the wild eyes is that the package will bend the tails making them bad. I only fish a wild eyes swimbait if the tail is perfect
  7. I don't do scent but strike king does do coffee baits maybe that's the easiest scent to do. Good for man and fish
  8. OK when I started the poll " Where is the next world record going to come from," I had no idea that it would turn into such a big deal about the 28lb that I said was in my home lake. But I guess you have to live and learn, so next time I'll have the picture right on hand. But let me say that even if can't find this picture, notice I said FIND, I still know that a fish in the twenty pound range is in that lake. I'm only saying twenty pound range because as you know the weight of a fish can change ( of course even if the fish lost a few pounds it's still a world record weight). so here is what's going on. Lake Kiowa is a very small gated community that was started as a place for retired people who like to play golf. Golf was the big thing and still is, so don't be surprised if you didn't hear anything about this fish, your more likely to here about I guy hitting a hole in one than about a world record fish. The one fact that I should have mention right off the bat is that this picture was taken in 2000. So this picture is several years old, which is why I am having a hard time finding it. This picture was put on the Internet for a short time. But since most of you don't go to to lakekiowa.com a whole lot you didn't see it. And if you plan on going there to check my story let me save you the trip there is nothing on the website about it. So now that you guys know the whole story let me tell you what I'm doing to get this picture After sending an email to the webmaster I went and ask around if any body knew about this picture. What I found was that anybody that had lived in lake Kiowa pre 2000 had seen it at the time it came out, those who are post 2000 all said the same thing " Sorry I didn't see it, but I heard about it," some guy even thought it was 30lbs . But I saw the picture and the weight so I know that it's not 30lbs. So now I'm am looking in the last two places that this picture could be. The local lake kiowa newspaper had the picture when the fish was tagged, and the webmaster had the picture. If they can't supply me with the picture I'll give in. Now that I'm done I'm sure most of you are going to say "Talk is cheap wheres the picture," . I only did this so you guys know the whole story. Pick this apart, call me a B.S.er do what you like. At the end of the day I'm not losing any sleep, and the best part is that other people have seen this picture so I'm not alone. And maybe it's for the best, the less people fishing this lake, the more chance I've got of catching this fish. And please don't throw the dirt till I say that I have given up. good luck and tight lines
  9. Hey I'm back and the hunt for the picture is on. I'm going to start a topic tomorrow that will tell you just whats going with trying to find the picture. But I'm holding on to what little pride I have left, don't worry the second that I find the picture or give up trying to find I will post it. And if I don't find it, you guys can throw all the dirt in the hole that RW said I was digging, and I'll be in the hole till tomorrow
  10. OK listen there will be a pic as soon as I get it. And yes the lake Kiowa is the one next to Ray Roberts. And as it is I hope that the comments about me being a B.S. stop. Do you think that I would post something like this if I wasn't sure. I'm not just a new member,my old membership was some how deleted so I made a new one . So I Know that when you say something like this on this website you better be able to back it up. I should have started the poll as called "do you believe that there is a 28lb in my home lake," stay with me THE PICTURE IS COMING
  11. There seems to be serious doubt that I can not produce a picture of the 28lb bass. I have sent an email to the lakes head angler and I can not post it till he sends me the picture. But to help solve some of your doubts I have found on this very website an article ( Giant Large mouth Bass By Bob Lusk) that has a picture of a bass over 12lbs caught on this same lake the 28lb is in. will post the picture as soon as I can. good luck
  12. I vote Texas. Not because I am from there, or because when they shock my home lake and they tagged a 28lb LMB and then released it (true story,I'll try and post a picture later,oh and did I mention that they did it in the post spawn). But because out of all these states Texas is the only one in the country that is trying to grow the world record bass with their luker program. If you don't know what that is check Texas state parks and wildlife website to find out. This and the reason that the governor of our state actually likes hunters and fishermen, sorry California, gives me every belief that Texas will win the race to produce the world record. Besides every thing is bigger in Texas good luck
  13. there one thing I want to know? Are we talking cold like its been a steady 32 are lower for a few weeks. Or are we talking North Texas cold, which means that it was 72 degrees out today 8-) so I spent the whole day chopping wood,Why? Because the high for tomorrow is going to be 18 degrees thats texas weather. For the steady cold periods I'll use a jig and flat sided crank bait . But during warm up times I'll use a jerkbait and a lipless crank. good luck
  14. My hats of to you BIG M. If there was a " Best member on bassresource.com" award you should get it. BIG M your the kind of guy that makes bass fishing great good luck
  15. great job and great idea hope it works but like someone already said you might have a problem with it falling upside down in the nasty stuff. If you could find a way to put a single hook with a weed guard in the back and not a treble that might help. Just a thought have fun and catch one for me Good luck
  16. Got that for my birthday, One of the best books out there! I've been making my own stuff for a few years now but this book taught me some new tricks. Worth its weight in gold, and well worth the price.
  17. I use to think that the guys on this website were so helpful and liked giving advice, and they are on every other forum. Then you come here and its like " Welcome, we are going to cut you down to size ,". In the last two topics in this forum two guys put something up that were just regular topics. In the first three posts they where already being "cut down to size", listen what I'm trying to say is, GUYS WHO GIVE ADVICE ON THIS FOURM, CHEER UP. I don't think that I ever read something posted here that didn't turn into some sort of fight.
  18. Thanks but now I have to go though all the new guy stuff like I can't suggest websites till I have posted ten times > Oh well, its nice to be back
  19. I'm texasboy or texasbassboy, I forget which, with a new name. Some how when I had problems with my internet here I lost all my info to my account so that I couldn't get on my account. Rather than search though a million emails I decided just to make a new account. So let me introduce myself re-named as fishingismylife. good luck and tight lines.
