  1. Here is how I beat the rocks. football jig- without a weed guard and size anywhere between 1/4-1/2 oz I prefer 1/4 if I can get away with it but the main thing is bottom contact Soft plastic- I like a zoom ultra vibe speed craw but I also like a brush hog or a speed craw depending on the conditions T-rig the plastic on the jig cast it and slowly reel in the lure keeping it on the bottom. Notice I said reel and not drag, your moving the bait with the reel not the pole. Bites will ether feel weightless or like a slight tap tap good luck
  2. Sorry I was joking around maybe I made it sound to serious but I was just joking ;D Capt.O
  3. We obviously have very different opinions which is obvious because you and I are different people. What you assume is that it is obvious that I have never fish the zipper shakin worm because if I had then it would obviously be my favorite worm. What you failed to observe is that that Captain Obvious is a tackle junkie of the first degree and close kin to the bait monkey. Obviously one who has devoted most of his young life to studding tackle could not let such a well know lure like the zipper fly under his radar. Obviously then I have fished that worm and still claim that it comes behind my much loved trick worm. I hope that now you will continue to fish the zipper worm which you obviously love, and I will fish the trick worm which I obviously love and we both will enjoy success with our choices. Now after this short hi-jack of this post let us continue with the first question: Favorite Plastic Worm? My answer remains unchanged Capt.O
  4. Ryan last time I saw someone post a question about those lures with its website it got shut down, not 100% sure why but I thought I let you know Just trying to help Capt.O
  5. I prefer baits over yum yums lol Happy Easter
  6. Those people they work for are called sponsors ;D And those elite guys do work for their sponsors by giving seminars and helping create new products. Lets not confuse the elite guys with the the people who fish the federation or open tournaments. Although those guys are pros they also have jobs. What I want to know is how much is Strike King paying KVD or how much is Lucky Craft paying Kelly Jordan to fish their baits.
  7. I was just wondering, how much do you think those elite series guys are making each year. I know they all claim that sponsors pay the bills and put food on the table but how much is that? I know that it differs depending on how good you are, so lets just look at guys like John Crews who don't win very often.
  8. Thanks guys I totally forgot about this post ;D So PVC/enough weight= sinking bait Sweet Capt.O
  9. Same here I was fishing it t-rigged on a 1/4 oz round jig and dragging it slowly across the bottom. Good luck
  10. Zoom trick worm best ever!!!!! And a senko is a stick bait not a worm
  11. Lip-less crank in bluegill pattern right above the grass. let it fall and rip it out. If there are crawfish there has to be some rock. Find where it is and you'll hit pay dirt Capt.O
  12. Can you make it sink or suspend? Thinking about trying to make a few jerk baits Thanks Capt.O
  13. Those are great LMAO The second one is to true though....trust me I have experience
  14. One time will I was fishing in a pond I was tight lining for catfish. Then all the sudden a moccasin comes swimming up and wants to get on shore right where my pole was!! I just backed up and let him have his space so he would get on the bank and leave. As soon as I take a step back my pole takes off into the water. I was going to jump in after it but that dang snake was right in front of me. So I lost the rod and reel and didn't even get to kill the snake. > Capt.O
  15. I call fish "baby" On the hook set- " Whoo baby that felt good" : Mid fight- "Common baby stay on there" :-? Tense moment- " Stay the H-E double hockey sticks on there" After landing the fish- " YEAH BABY!!!!" Capt.O
  16. All depends on the conditions, here are my guide lines Clear water- soft Stained water-hard Brush-soft Docks- hard Rocks- soft Weeds- soft Deep water- hard Shallow water-hard I'm sure other guys do it different but try those out and the adjust to what you feel most comfortable with in those situations Capt.O
