  1. The master has spoken. Her directions leave something to desire. Siri couldn't find her way out of a wet paper bag.
  2. I'm not sure how one would fish creature baits on a U rig... Put a wax worm on a flutter spoon and go ice fishing. I know nothing about nothing. My conundrum today. I'm used to teaching kids how to fish. I love it. Kids are sponges and they absorb everything. I can't teach an adult how to fish only tell him/her. My assistant at the store has taken up fishing. He's all in for about $60 right now. He's expecting miracles. Texts me he caught 2 trees and a bush on his first day fishing and I text him this pic of the grandkid. The bass is getting mounted for all you snowflakes. 5lbPB for a 6yo ain't a bad thing. he got upset when I told him we had to throw it back if we weren't eating it. I caved. He told me he needs to get a GoPro and millions of subscribers on his non existent fishing channel.
  3. Anyone do an aftermarket upgrade on rotors. Drilled and slotted rotors worth it? Looking at PowerStop https://www.powerstop.com/ but I'm open to suggestions. Would just be rotors and pads. The upgrade kits come with new stainless steel hardware for the existing calipers. I won't be upgrading calipers. PowerStop claims "dust free" ceramic pads. I take that with a grain of salt. I'm not happy with the premium pads or fleet pads from Goodyear. Brakes work fine but the dust is ridiculous. I'd also like to get away from replacing rotors every 60K if that's possible. I'd be happy to get at least 1 pad change in between complete brake jobs.
  4. No need to rotate what works. I think a lot of us are "One trick pony's". I luvvvvvv fishing jigs all year. I'm wise enough to know I shouldn't. I'm not always wise enough to know when to switch it up, only that I should.
  5. Kind of the point of my thread. My buddy, a walleye fisherman, never even considered throwing a jerk bait for bass on the lake he lives on. The other guy fishing last weekend, didn't have any in his arsenal either. My first thought after determining the depth and lack of vegetation was " a jerkbait would work well here".
  6. I was invited by an ex coworker to fish on "his" lake. The lake he lives on is semi private. The lake has 1 spot for public access and the rest of it is either wooded or private access. I've known this guy for about 10 years. He's lived on the lake a few years and I have fished it twice, both times for crappies. The grandson pulls a 5 pound LMB out of the lake a couple weeks ago on a minnow from the public access pier. This was my first time fishing from the public pier. No one else caught fish while we were there. I was with the kid so I wasn't fishing, just untangling lines and baiting hooks. There was another bass guy out there throwing jigs and swimbaits. He got nothing. I asked my buddy, later that evening, if he had ever thrown a suspending jerk bait off the pier. Specifically, a 5" Husky Jerk in Baby bass. He said no. I told him I'd be throwing it thru post spawn. He hasn't been getting giants but, he's been getting big numbers of buck bass throwing the HJ, since we spoke. Point of my post. Don't get stuck on one or two presentations. It happens to all of us. Pay attention to everything. A second set of eyes might be all you need to clear your head.

  8. Nothing here. Still too cold. Had frost on the truck yesterday morning
  9. Yes?
  10. Last year, first day out, he got a 15" bass on his first cast. He reminds me of that every time I pick him up to go fishing. This will be the new big fish I will be reminded about. Taxidermist is going to get it back to me by Christmas.
  11. The answer with outlets is to use a radio. Has to be something similar. Can I send an assistant into the room? A cell phone camera?
  12. The market is resetting itself
  13. Kalin's Crappie Scrubs and nail tails. Trout Magnet and Crappie Magnet plastics and jigs AND Rocket Bobbers are a must
  14. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNN!!!
  15. That buttseat looks like it would be a bit uncomfortable...almost like it's missing something
  16. I like this one https://www.buffalotracedistillery.com/our-brands/traveller-whiskey.html
  17. Cracks and, even more so, warped/buckled hulls. I've owned 2 riveted hulls, a Mirrocraft and a Lund. If you look at some manufacturing videos between different aluminum manufacturers, you'll see the stringer systems in both of those riveted brands are far superior than any welded brand, at least, that I've seen. The stringer systems dissipate energy thru ought the entire hull. Lund also uses a double plated bow to absorb wave impact. The above being said, If you are using the boat on water that rarely sees anything above a 2ft chop, it's probably not a big deal. If you frequently fish larger rougher bodies of water, there might be better options. Going to correct you sir. The Lund is more of a hybrid hull. Deep V in the bow and pad in the stern.
  18. Nice looking boat. I wouldn't buy it because it's welded. Personal preference.
  19. It's all him. Cocky kid said it counts as 3 fish. 20" and every bit of 5lbs that will go on the wall.
  20. First time out this year. Semi private lake near the Wisconsin border. Grandson caught it on a minnow from shore and when I told him we have to throw it back, it's too big to eat, he started whining. I told him we could keep it if he wanted it mounted on the wall like papa's fish. It's getting mounted. 20" and I'm guessing every bit of 5lbs.
  21. Fantastic movie if you haven't seen. IMO Midler should have stuck with blues instead of pop, but what the hell do I know?
