I traded in a 2008 250K Tundra in '18 for a leftover '17 F250 XLT 6.2 gasser with a 6 speed trans and 3.73 rear end. The F250 has 108K on it. The only issues I've had is a water pump, tailgate latch, and I just blew out a rear shock. I understand Ford is having issues with the 10 speed trans in all their vehicles. The Tundra was not of Toyota "quality" I had heard about. It was the first year of that gen so I guess they hadn't worked the bugs out.
Son has an '18 F150 Ecoboost with 80K and his only issue under warranty was the cam phasers. Have no idea what they are but were covered under recall. Unfortunately, the replacements failed out of warranty and Ford said they would only cover 50%
I had a 20ft Lund when I bought the F250. That's gone and I'm in a 14ft pond hopper. Had some guy at a ramp say "Sure that's enough truck to pull that boat?" The less bells and whistles, the less **** you have to worry about breaking.
