  1. whats DSS mah man? Love the recon!
  2. DSG carries the KVD L&L..
  3. You have an internet connection my friend..in a few hours, you can google up more info than you will ever need!
  4. try some spun deer hair-headed streamers[big zoo cougars, muddlers] and some zonker strip tails..big profile and some nice action,i'm assuming you are targeting bass?
  5. Call his bluff and fish on!..there is no "gray" area, its either legal for public,or its private...if DEP says its legal, but you have a powertrip homeowner, well, too bad for him.Tell him to call the cops. The only problem which i dont know yet is how are you gaining access to the site? Legal parking?
  6. Slayer-reign in blood [entire album] metallica -master of puppets/ride/kill 'em pantera-great southern trendkill,i'm broken, hole in the sky[black sabbath cover],drag the waters, walk,..ALL pantera! megadeth-countdown stone temple pilots-core album disturbed-voices..awesome tune! misfits-astro zombies kreator-pleasure to kill crumbsuckers-life of dreams old sabbath,priest,ozzy...IRON MAIDEN-from maiden 1 to somewhere in time....!! EDDIE RULES!! carnivore-retaliation
  7. It happened to me a few times in the past when i used to bring a flyrod down to one of the lakes that i would fish from shore. I would hook into a bluegill or golden shiner on the fly, then when bringing it back to the bank,i had some nice sized bass come up and try to crush them!
  8. ...Well,at least there is still blue bug! hopefully..
  9. They discontinued JUNEBUG!! OOhh,please don't say things like that,it just cant be true..i dont believe it! I refuse to believe it! I will crawl in a hole and die if its true......
  10. If its your dedicated jig rod,you may want to try a braided line..i was throwing my med-hvy rod,30# power pro w/ a 15# flouro LEADER..[there is a difference between FC line and leader material] all day today and never swithed set-ups. Fished a 3/8 oz. arky jig most of the day in the milfoil beds, switched over to a 1/2 oz.spinnerbait, and ended the evening with a spook..worked fine for all of these applications. I know there are better set ups for technique specific baits, and i use them often, but this has consistantly been my favorite "all-in-one" combo.
  11. I like running a zoom paddle tail on a weighted EWG hook like crestliner said[swimbait style],or pegging/florida-screw lock bullet weight to the head..love this worm now that the grass beds are finally high enough! lotta rain this spring, lake levels are very high all over.. If it hits an open zone in the weeds,i'll kill it-..shake..-swim again..most bass seem to crush it just slow rolling it at the grass tips! I dont really ever T-rig them, like you mentioned,i'm sure it will catch, but i treat it more like a "swim-stick" bait.
  12. Grass/Veg. bottom-T-rigged 7-10" worm/Creature Bait. Rock/Timber bottom-1/2 oz. Jig,Crank that ticks the structure bottom.
  13. Has anyone used/own this rod? Was looking for any feedback on how it preforms with 1/4-3/8 oz. jigs,T-Rigs worming, possible spook rod? I woul'd like a 7'3" rod,and the description seems to be on the mark for what i was looking for..It's labeled the "Timmy Horton all purpose rod"...i know that there is no true one-in-all rod,but i cant seem to find a weight rating for this one?
  14. Well, maybe you would like to visit howtoknitascarf.com,or possible housecats4me.com...i'm sure that would peak your interest more than the useless drivel posted on a...fishing website..!
  15. No offense, but that is horrible advice! the fish is fighting for its life, doesn't know if you are releasing it or making it your next meal! Dont risk removing the very important slime coat on the bass. its gonna thrash around, its part of fishing..either accept it or take up golf! I do agree OP,it stings like hell,i'm feeling it right now and my thumb looks like hamburger meat, but its a sign of doing something right! Hockey grip tape on the thumb works well!
  16. Very interesting to hear many folks like a big, bright full moon for night fishing?? I do much better on the darker/new moon phases and they actually seem to shut off at the dusk to night transition on a full moon for me throughout the years. i'll still be out there, will try everything, but will start with a big, slow crawling t-rigged worm on the grass beds/mat edges first..good luck to all.
  17. had an osprey plummet "full-out talons/dive-bomb mode" crawling a 7" redfin on the surface one early morning fishing a back bay area for stripers! Glad i saw him at the last second and missed his target!!
  18. Maybe its just a certain batch from abu with the thumb-bar issues? They seemed real nice the half dozen times i played with one at the tackle shop, but that means nothing untill its out in the field getting a real-life workout..Hopefully it gets fixed soon! I also own the Lews TP1SH 7.1:1..After putting in a lot of time on it last summer/fall,i gotta admit that reel is a beast! More drag pressure than any bass coul'd ever dish out, casts great, very light! I thought it looked like a cheap graphite body reel at first glance compared to the more "solid-feel" of the abu STX,,but it's performance did impress me out on the water.
  19. dang,i love my two GEN2 STX reels [1-6.4:1 and 1-7.1:1]..fish the hell outta them 4-6 times a week and they both have been flawless,so much that i was contemplating a new GEN3 STX or possibly an MGX,but now,i'm not sure? whats going on abu??
  20. i'm sold..had it in my hands 4-5-6 times the past few months, only to put it back! looks like a friggin' spinning clam shell with a cheap 2-point tin hook, but now i will buy one..die monkey...die!
  21. i wonder how the "new formula XT" will perform? Have been hesitant to try it,but for $7.99/spool,i may just pull the trigger..
  22. Heavy slop/mats like you said, with no string legs for short strikers in open pockets! This was made for heavy tackle and big bass! Mixed reviews, but have some great feedback when crawled over heavy mats and pitched waay under tree-lined shores.
  23. alewive,BB herring,bream..!!There is not doubt in my mind that some hawgs roam them waters.i'm jealous of you MA anglers and your herring-run lakes! lotta good advise here, night time and some big plugs should up your odds, keep us updated and good luck.
  24. was this the "new" trilene? they have reformulated XL and XT..?
  25. Pads, docks weed beds..i think you allready answered your question! BASS SEEK OUT COVER! Either to ambush or hide, bass need structure to survive! You may catch some cruisers here and there, but concentrate on the heavy cover areas if its a small lake,or any lake for that matter. Pads & frogs, dragging t-rigged plastics through weedbeds, jigging the edges..skip under the docks if you have the opportunity without a doubt! So many choices my friend..whats the main forage on this lake? How deep is it?
